About Registered Agent Review

Registered agent requirements are set by statute, change by state, and are described almost everywhere in marketing language. This site writes them down with the source attached.

Our mission

To make the actual requirement legible: what your state's law says, what its filing agency charges, what is due each year, and which services will do it for you, with the primary source next to every figure so you can check it rather than trust us.

Our values

Sourced, not asserted

Every fee, deadline and statutory requirement on this site carries a link to the statute, fee schedule or agency page it came from, and each page shows the date its facts were checked. If we could not open a source, the claim does not run.

Scored on published facts, not testing

Each provider has a score out of 10 from a fixed, published method: half from its Trustpilot rating, the rest from the services it offers, its dashboard and mail scanning, and its package value and two-year cost, every input a cited fact. Trustpilot ratings are shown separately, with their source and the number of reviews. How we score.

Disclosed, not implied

Some links are affiliate links. That appears on every page that carries a commercial link, not only in the footer.

Dated

Fee schedules and review scores move. Each page shows when it was last verified, and that date changes only when the sources were genuinely re-checked.

How we work

For each state we collect the governing statute, the filing agency's published fee schedule, and the agency page for the annual filing, then write the page from those documents. For each service we use its published plan information and its public review score, and score it with the published method. Any change to a score is approved by an editor before it goes live. Where a source cannot be retrieved, the claim is dropped rather than softened.

What we do not do: we do not form test companies, we do not run a hands-on testing programme, and we do not employ a panel of experts. Sites in this category commonly claim all three. We would rather say what we actually do, which is read the primary documents and cite them.

Our commitment

We are not a law firm and this is not legal advice. Requirements vary by state and entity type, and the consequences of getting them wrong are yours, not ours, so where something turns on your specific situation, the right move is the state's own office or a licensed attorney. What we owe you is accurate, dated, checkable information about what the rules are.
