How this site is funded
The short version
Some outbound links to formation and registered agent services are affiliate links. If you sign up through one, we may be paid a commission. You pay the same either way.
How affiliate links are marked
Every affiliate link on this site carries rel="sponsored nofollow" in the markup
and appears below a funding notice on the page it is on. That is the disclosure standard search
engines ask for and the one the FTC asks for, and it is applied to every commercial link on the
site rather than to a selection of them.
What the money does not change
Our scores follow a published method built only on cited facts, and every change to a score is reviewed and approved before it is published (how we score). Trustpilot ratings are reproduced with the source and the review count, and they are not adjusted. Statutory requirements and state fees come from the statute and the agency fee schedule, which are indifferent to who pays us.
What a commercial relationship can influence is which services get a page at all. So: the services listed here are the ones large enough that leaving them out would misrepresent the field, whether or not we have a commercial relationship with them.
How lists are ordered
Provider lists are ordered by our score, highest first, with ties in our editorial order. Lists built for a specific need or price state their own basis next to them: published starting price, or an editorial order for the need a page is about. Commissions don't change any order or score.
