Swyft Filings registered agent review (2026)
Facts checked October 13 to 14, 2026.
Swyft Filings bills its registered agent service by the quarter, at $149 per quarter, which works out to $596/year, and the service auto-renews until cancelled. Legal papers are uploaded to an online account, with legal SOP typically within 2-3 hours, and Swyft lists its coverage as All 50 states. Swyft doesn't publish a free or discounted first year, mail forwarding, or a refund window. Its terms suit owners who want fast digital delivery of legal papers and a wide set of add-on services under one account; owners comparing on yearly cost should set the annual total beside providers that bill once a year.1

How much does Swyft Filings' registered agent service cost per year?
The published price is $149 per quarter, charged quarterly, for a yearly total of $596/year. Swyft's agent page phrases it loosely ("Our registered agent service costs around $149 per quarter."), but the checkout repeats the same figure.1
That quarterly billing sets Swyft apart from most of the field. Most of the other providers we compare publish a yearly agent price: Bizee lists $149/year and Northwest lists $125 per year, for example. When you compare, multiply Swyft's quarterly figure out to a full year rather than setting $149 per quarter next to someone else's yearly fee.2, 3
When the first agent charge lands
If you add the agent to a formation order, Swyft's checkout says: "You will be charged for Registered Agent ($149/quarter) in 90 days." So the first quarterly charge comes a quarter after you order, not on the day you pay for the LLC. Swyft doesn't describe this as a free period, and it doesn't publish a free or discounted first year of agent service.1
Renewal cadence: quarterly or annual?
Swyft's own pages describe renewal two ways. The price is quarterly, yet a Swyft FAQ says that "it will renew annually. We send reminders before any renewal, so you are never caught off guard." The same FAQ also says agent service "will renew according to the schedule outlined when you signed up." The FAQ points back to the schedule shown at signup, so that is the record to keep, because Swyft's pages don't settle the difference.4
Costs Swyft doesn't price
- Mail forwarding of original documents. Swyft doesn't publish whether it forwards paper originals, or at what cost.
- An EIN (your federal tax ID). No package lists one and no add-on price appears.
- What the legal document library costs after its free period. Swyft says it is free with packages for a limited period, and what applies after the free period is not stated.5

What happens when Swyft Filings receives legal papers for your LLC?
Swyft says it offers "Secure document uploads to your account," with legal SOP typically within 2-3 hours. SOP means service of process, which is the set of papers that formally starts a lawsuit against your company. The account also gives you a place to "view, store, and download every document we receive on your behalf."1
| Mail scanning | Documents uploaded to account; legal SOP typically within 2-3 hours |
|---|---|
| Mail forwarding | Not published |
| Compliance alerts | Notifications of state correspondence |
| Online dashboard | Yes, secure online dashboard |
A few things stand out in Swyft's wording.
The delivery speed is stated as typical, not guaranteed. A few hours is a short gap, but the word "typically" means there's no written standard to hold Swyft to.
Swyft describes uploads, not paper. Its pages don't say whether originals are posted to you or kept, and they don't say how ordinary business mail, such as bank letters, is handled when it arrives at the agent address.
On privacy, Swyft's agent page promises to "Keep your home address off public records." That holds for the agent field on your state filing, and it holds for every registered agent, because each one lists its own address there. Other fields, such as a principal office or member names, follow your state's rules no matter who your agent is. For those, Swyft sells a separate business address and virtual mailbox at $29/mo (Standard 1 month free; Premium 3 months free). Our page on what an agent can keep off the record explains which fields stay public.1, 5
Do you get deadline reminders with the agent service?
The agent page promises "timely notifications of state correspondence to help you stay compliant." That covers forwarding what the state sends. Deadline alerts are a different product. Swyft says "Timely deadline alerts are sent via email and your central dashboard." on its ComplianceGuard page, and ComplianceGuard costs $199/year after a trial. If you want reminders without paying for ComplianceGuard, Swyft's pages don't say the agent service sends them.1, 6
How do renewal, cancellation and refunds work at Swyft Filings?
| Auto-renewal | Yes, renews annually with reminders before renewal |
|---|---|
| How to cancel | Subject to service terms; replacement agent must be designated (or business dissolved) before cancellation |
| Refund policy | Case-by-case by charge type and order status; no published time window |
Auto-renewal. The agent service auto-renews until cancelled, billed each quarter at the published price. Swyft says it sends reminders before a renewal.1
Cancelling. Swyft's FAQ says "the registered agent must be changed, or the business must be voluntarily dissolved before the service can be cancelled." It adds: "Cancellation is subject to the applicable service terms." Swyft's pages don't name a notice period or say which channel to use for the request.7
The order of steps follows from that rule.
- Pick a new agent, or confirm that your state lets you serve as your own and that you have a street address there.
- File your state's change-of-agent form and wait until it's on record.
- Contact Swyft to cancel. Swyft doesn't publish what it needs to see before it stops billing.
If Swyft stops acting before the state records your new agent, your LLC can be left with no agent on file. What follows from that differs by state and is set out on each state's requirements page, such as the Texas registered agent guide. Our guides to changing and cancelling a registered agent walk through the steps in any state.
Refunds. Swyft gives no fixed rule. Its billing page says "Billing questions should be evaluated by charge type and order status," and that "Government filing fees and third-party charges may be treated differently from Swyft Filings service fees." Its FAQ adds: "If processing has not started, you may be eligible for a refund based on the refund policy." Nothing published addresses a quarterly agent charge that has already gone through.8
What do Swyft Filings' LLC packages include, and what do they leave out?
Swyft sells three LLC packages. State fees are extra on all of them, and Swyft says "Our business formation pricing separates the Swyft Filings service fee from the state filing fees." None of the three package lists names registered agent service, so the agent is a separate line on the order.5
| Package | Price | Includes | Registered agent |
|---|---|---|---|
| Basic | $0 + state fees | Preparation and filing of Articles of Organization; 100% accuracy guarantee; processes in 7-10 business days | Not stated |
| Standard | $169 + state fees (promotional, 'SAVE $30'; regular $199) | Everything in Basic plus custom organizational minutes, custom banking resolution, business banking essentials, operating agreement; processes in 3 business days | Not stated |
| Premium | $269 + state fees (promotional, 'SAVE $30'; regular $299) | Everything in Standard plus same-day processing, incorp updates, professional business address, custom digital kit, unlimited attorney consultations, compliance monitoring; processes in 1 business day | Not stated |
| State fees | Yes |
|---|---|
| Expedited filing | Same-day processing included in Premium package |
| Processing time | Basic 7-10 business days; Standard 3 business days; Premium 1 business day |
Basic ($0 + state fees). Swyft prepares and files your articles of organization, offers a 100% accuracy guarantee, and processes in 7-10 business days. Basic's published list doesn't include an operating agreement.5
Standard ($169 + state fees, regular $199). It adds custom organizational minutes, custom banking resolution, business banking essentials, operating agreement, and processes in 3 business days. The lower figure is a sale price, and Swyft doesn't say when the sale ends.5
Premium ($269 + state fees, regular $299). It adds same-day processing, incorp updates, professional business address, custom digital kit, unlimited attorney consultations, compliance monitoring, and processes in 1 business day. Two of those items, same-day processing and attorney consultations, carry an asterisk on Swyft's page with no footnote to explain it.5
Every package also includes a "Trial of ComplianceGuard (Access one free annual report, one business amendment, and our corporate minutes manager tool)." On ComplianceGuard's own page, Swyft says "After the 14-day free trial, your card will automatically be charged $199 for a one-year subscription." and "The service renews each year unless cancelled by you." An owner who doesn't want ComplianceGuard has to cancel it before the trial ends to avoid that charge.5, 6
Some points go unstated across all three packages.
- Whether processing times include the state's queue. A Swyft FAQ says "Orders are typically filed with the state within one business day." That is Swyft's own step. Each state then works through filings at its own pace, and Swyft's package times don't say whether they include that wait.5
- State steps after filing. Some states add a step after formation, and our state formation guides, such as the New York LLC formation walkthrough, cover them. No Swyft package description mentions any post-formation state step.
- What the legal document library costs later. Swyft lists 250+ customizable legal & business documents with each package for a limited time and doesn't state the price afterward.5
| Annual report filing service | ComplianceGuard $199/year (annual report filing included, state fee applies); 14-day free trial then auto-charged |
|---|---|
| Deadline reminders | Deadline alerts via email and dashboard (ComplianceGuard) |
| EIN service | Not published |
| Operating agreement | Included in Standard (and Premium, which includes everything in Standard) |
| Virtual address | $29/mo; Standard 1 month free; Premium 3 months free |
What Swyft Filings doesn't publish
Not found on Swyft Filings's own website: free or discounted first year, mail forwarding, ein service, ein without an ssn, u.s. bank account help.
Before buying, ask Swyft three things in writing: whether your plan bills the agent quarterly or yearly, what happens to paper originals and ordinary mail, and whether a quarterly charge can be refunded after it posts.
Can you use Swyft Filings if you live outside the U.S.?
Swyft's FAQ says a non-U.S. citizen can form an LLC here, but it doesn't confirm that its own order form handles a foreign address.
The FAQ's wording is "Yes. A non-US citizen can legally form an LLC in the United States." That describes U.S. law. Swyft also doesn't publish whether it can get an EIN for a founder who has no Social Security number, so ask Swyft about that before you order. Standard lists business banking essentials, but no page says Swyft helps a non-resident open a U.S. bank account. Our page of agents compared for non-resident founders shows which providers state these services outright.4

How do you reach Swyft Filings?
Swyft lists phone support at (877) 777-0450, Monday - Friday, 8AM - 8PM CT, and its agent page shows a second number, (866) 797-9938. Its pages don't list live chat. Swyft is based in Houston, Texas, and it dates its client work "Since 2015."1, 4, 9

Who do Swyft Filings' published terms suit?
Each point below rests on a fact Swyft publishes. The linked lists order providers by the rule each one states.
These owners line up with Swyft's published terms.
- Owners who want many services under one login. Swyft sells 6 of the 10 business service types we track, from an operating agreement to attorney access, and it has an online dashboard. See all-in-one registered agent services.
- Owners who want legal papers fast. Swyft states legal SOP typically within 2-3 hours, and the papers land in the same dashboard as the rest of your documents.1
- Owners who want a business address product. Swyft sells one at $29/mo, with free months on Standard and Premium. It sits on our privacy list for that reason.5
- Owners who want the annual report filed for them. ComplianceGuard does it for $199/year: "Annual report filing is completed for your business each year (state fee applies)." Because it is sold separately, Swyft sits in the second group on our compliance list, behind providers that include report filing in a plan.6
These owners should look closely first.
- First-time founders who want support built in. Swyft includes none of the three supports in a plan. Its one support, annual report filing, comes only as a trial. Our summary of Swyft's terms for that support: ComplianceGuard: annual report filed for you each year (state fee extra). Every LLC plan includes a 14-day trial of ComplianceGuard, then $199/year auto-charged unless cancelled. Swyft doesn't publish business coaching or AI guidance. Providers with more included supports rank higher on the first-time founders list.6
- Owners chasing the lowest yearly cost. At $596/year, Swyft's agent costs more per year than the yearly agent prices the other providers publish, which our cheapest registered agent services list sets side by side.1
- Founders outside the U.S. Swyft is listed on the non-resident page because its FAQ says a non-U.S. citizen can form a U.S. LLC, but it doesn't publish EIN help without a Social Security number.
- Owners who want a fixed refund rule, since refunds are decided case by case.
Which providers make a different trade-off?
Each of these differs from Swyft Filings on a specific published point. Prices come from each provider's own pages.
Northwest Registered Agent: if you want a yearly price and online cancellation. Northwest lists its agent at $125 per year. Its terms say "You may terminate or cancel your Service anytime by logging onto your account," and that there is no cancellation fee. It scans ordinary business mail too, up to 5 docs per year, at no charge, which Swyft doesn't publish. Its report filing costs $100 + state fees, charged at filing. Read the Northwest review.3, 10, 11
ZenBusiness: if you want annual billing with a formation discount. ZenBusiness lists $199/year, and its agent page says "Get 50% off registered agent service for the first year when you form an LLC." and "Renews at $199/yr." Its terms also say "ZenBusiness may increase its fees for RA Services effective the first day of a RA Service Term," so the renewal isn't locked. Cancelling goes through its support team by phone. See the ZenBusiness review.12, 13, 14
InCorp Services: if you want a lower agent price and a written refund window. InCorp lists $129/year, described as "a flat $129 per year that has increased exactly once since 1998." Its terms state "All refund requests must be made within sixty (60) days of the issuance of services," a time limit Swyft doesn't publish. Annual report filing is $89 + state fees. See the InCorp review.15, 16, 17, 18
Every provider appears in the full comparison table. Reviews of other services with annual agent pricing include Tailor Brands, Bizee and LegalZoom. The how we score page explains the order of every list.

How fast does Swyft Filings send me legal papers?
