Bizee (formerly Incfile) registered agent review (2026)
Facts checked October 13, 2026.
Bizee (formerly Incfile) lists its registered agent service at $149/year on its own, and the first year is free when you form a company through any of its LLC packages. After that, Bizee's marketing pages give the renewal as $149/year (ongoing annual fee). Legal papers are mailed via FedEx with tracking and uploaded to an online client portal, the agent page lists compliance notifications, and Bizee says it covers all 50 states. Bizee's pages don't publish whether ordinary business mail is scanned, a price for its annual report filing service, or a refund rule written for registered agent renewals. Its published terms suit owners who are forming a new LLC and want the agent bundled in; owners who need mail scanning or a fixed renewal promise in the contract should read the terms below first.1, 2

How much is Bizee's registered agent service after the free year?
Bizee publishes one standalone price for its agent service, $149/year. If you form your LLC with Bizee, the agent comes with the order, and from the second year on both routes lead to the same bill.
In Bizee's words: "With any of our business formation packages, you get one year of Registered Agent Service for free." The package FAQ describes the same service as a "$149/yr value" that is "included free for the first year and renews annually."3, 4
There are two ways in.
- You form your LLC with Bizee. You pay the package price plus the state's filing fee. The agent costs nothing until the first renewal. Then it renews at $149/year (ongoing annual fee).2
- You already have an LLC. You buy the standalone service at $149/year and appoint Bizee as your agent with the state. That usually means filing a change-of-agent form with the state, which may carry a state fee of its own. Our guide to changing your registered agent covers the order of steps.
The renewal amount comes from Bizee's marketing pages. Bizee's cancellation policy does not name a figure. It says: "The current Registered Agent service annual renewal fee is available on the Website and the Customer Dashboard." In plain terms, the policy points to whatever Bizee shows at renewal time. Nothing in the published policy fixes the amount for future years, so the renewal figure above is a published price today, not a promise.2
What isn't priced on Bizee's pages
Three costs that come after formation have no published price.
- Annual report filing. Bizee says "we handle annual report filings for you", but no standalone price appears next to it.5
- Expedited state filing, where the order page shows an expedite option with a blank amount. Faster handling is only priced through the package tiers.
- Scanning of ordinary mail. Bizee does not publish whether non-legal mail is scanned, or at what cost.
The yearly cost of an LLC is the agent renewal plus any state report fee plus whatever you pay someone to file it. With Bizee, only the first part has a published figure. For the state side of that sum, see how annual reports work.
What does Bizee do with your legal mail?
Bizee says service of process (the legal papers that start a lawsuit) is mailed via FedEx with tracking, and documents are also promptly uploaded to your client portal, according to its registered agent page.1
A registered agent's core job is to accept lawsuits and official state notices for your company and pass them to you.
| Mail scanning | Not published |
|---|---|
| Mail forwarding | Service of process mailed via FedEx with tracking |
| Compliance alerts | Free lifetime compliance notifications |
| Online dashboard | Documents uploaded to client portal |
Three points stand out in Bizee's published wording.
- Physical delivery of legal papers. Bizee's registered agent page names a physical delivery method for legal papers, in addition to the portal upload. It says uploads are prompt but does not state a same-day or next-day standard, and it does not mention scanning.
- Ordinary mail isn't covered in writing. Bizee's pages don't say what happens to non-legal mail, such as bank letters or marketing, sent to the agent address. If you expect to use the agent address for regular mail, ask before you order. Bizee also sells a separate virtual address at $29/month (1 Month Free with Bizee LLC Formation), which is a different product from the agent service.6
- Privacy wording is general. The privacy line Bizee publishes, that an agent service "keeps your personal address off public filings", sits in a general explainer about what registered agents do. That is true of the agent field only, and of every provider: each registered agent lists its own address there, so it isn't something Bizee offers that other agents don't. The other names and addresses on a state formation filing are set by that state's law, and naming Bizee as agent doesn't change them. If you want a separate business address, the virtual address above is the product Bizee sells for that; whether a state accepts it in a given field depends on that state's rules. Our guide to what a registered agent can and can't keep off the record explains what stays public.7
Compliance alerts: who gets them?
Bizee's registered agent page lists this feature: Free lifetime compliance notifications. Its compliance page goes further: "We send reminders for every state and federal compliance deadline tied to your business." But Bizee's order page lists lifetime compliance alerts only in Standard and Premium. A Basic package includes the agent service, which the agent page says comes with alerts, yet the order page doesn't list alerts for Basic. Bizee doesn't explain the difference. If reminders are the reason you're choosing a provider, ask Bizee to confirm in writing which plan includes them.1, 8
Who is the agent on the state record?
Bizee's registered agent page says it is a national provider "owning and operating our own offices in all 50 states" and adds "We do not outsource our service." Its cancellation policy says the renewal is charged by Bizee's registered agent partner (e.g., LegalInc). The two pages describe the setup differently, and Bizee doesn't explain how they fit together. If you need to know, ask Bizee which entity will be named as your agent on the state record.1, 9
How do renewal, cancellation and refunds work at Bizee?
| Auto-renewal | Yes - may automatically renew |
|---|---|
| How to cancel | Cancel anytime by assigning a new registered agent with the state and notifying Bizee of the change |
| Refund policy | Orders generally refundable until payment is forwarded to a government entity (typically ~24 hours) |
Auto-renewal. Bizee's cancellation policy says its services may automatically renew to keep your company in compliance. The policy adds that "A current and active credit card on file will be charged" by its registered agent partner. The policy also says Bizee may auto-renew if notification is not provided by the expiration date.9
Cancelling. You cancel by assigning a new registered agent with state and notifying Bizee of the change. In practice that takes three steps, done in this order.9
- Choose a new agent, or decide to serve as your own agent if your state allows it and you have an address there.
- File the change-of-agent form with your state and wait for it to be accepted.
- Tell Bizee about the change before the expiration date. Bizee's policy pages say cancellation requests are not accepted by phone or email. Check the cancellation policy for the channel it accepts.9
If you stop the service before the state records a new agent, your company has no valid agent on file. In some states that alone can lead to dissolution. Arizona, for example, lists going without a statutory agent for a set period among the grounds for administrative dissolution in its LLC statute. The Arizona registered agent guide explains that rule. Our guide to cancelling a registered agent walks through the steps for any state.
Refunds. Bizee's refund wording is about orders in general. Orders are "generally refundable until payment is forwarded to any government entity", which happens "typically within twenty-four hours after an order is placed." Bizee's policy pages don't set out refund terms written for a registered agent renewal. If a renewal charge surprises you, nothing in the published policy promises money back for it.9
What do Bizee's LLC packages include, and what do they leave out?
Bizee sells three LLC formation packages, and all three include the first year of registered agent service. State fees are charged on top of every package, as Bizee's own headline puts it: "Start a Business for $0 + State Fees."3
Bizee's order page changes with the state you pick, so the package prices below come from its order-page FAQ. The checkout shows the figure for your state.
| Package | Price | Includes | Registered agent |
|---|---|---|---|
| Basic | $0 + state fee | Registered Agent (1st year included) | Yes, first year |
| Standard | $199 + state fee | Basic plus EIN, operating agreement, faster processing (~2 weeks) | Yes, first year |
| Premium | $299 + state fee | Standard plus business contracts, expedited filing (~4 business days), domain name and business email, business phone | Yes, first year |
| State fees | Yes - $0 + state fees |
|---|---|
| Expedited filing | Not published |
| Processing time | Standard ~2 weeks (includes expedited filing) |
Basic ($0 plus the state fee). Bizee prepares and files your articles of organization and adds the first agent year. The main trade-off is time: Bizee's own processing line reads "Basic: 4 to 6 weeks." Basic leaves out the EIN (your federal tax ID) and an operating agreement. Bizee sells those separately at $70 and $99.4, 10
Standard ($199 plus the state fee). It adds the EIN, an operating agreement, and faster processing (~2 weeks instead of 4 to 6). For the EIN, Bizee notes that "our Standard and Premium Packages include this service for free." Buying both add-ons on Basic would cost $70 plus $99. That's useful to compare against the gap between the Basic and Standard prices.4, 10
Premium ($299 plus the state fee). It adds ready-to-use business contracts ($500+ value), a custom domain and email, business phone number, lifetime compliance alerts, and priority 4-day processing. Bizee gives the timing as "Premium: approximately 4 business days."4
Three things go unstated in every package description.
- Whether the times include the state's own processing. Bizee's timing lines don't say. States set their own queues and their own expedite fees on top.
- State-specific steps after filing. Some states add a step after formation. Arizona, for instance, has a publication rule in its LLC statute: after the articles are filed, a notice must be published, unless the agent's street address is in one of the state's most populous counties, where the Commission posts the notice online instead. None of Bizee's package descriptions mention publication. Our Arizona LLC formation walkthrough covers that step, and the cheapest way to form an Arizona LLC shows how it affects the total.
- What the second year costs. Bizee calls the package price "a one-time formation fee." The agent renews at $149/year (ongoing annual fee) after the free year, according to Bizee's marketing pages, and Bizee publishes no price for annual report filing.2, 4
| Annual report filing service | Annual report filing offered; no standalone price stated |

| Virtual address | $29/month; 1 month free with Bizee LLC formation |
What Bizee doesn't publish
Not found on Bizee (formerly Incfile)'s own website: mail scanning, expedited filing, u.s. bank account help.
Each gap is a question to put to Bizee before you buy. The most useful ones to ask are the renewal price written into your own contract, how non-legal mail is handled, and whether compliance alerts come with the plan you're buying.
Can you use Bizee if you live outside the U.S.?
Bizee's guidance here comes from general blog articles, not its service terms. An article on forming an LLC without a Social Security number says that "non-U.S. citizens and non-residents can start their own businesses."11
On the federal tax ID, the same article says of applying through a third-party designee: "This option is not typically available to those who do not have an SSN or ITIN." Bizee doesn't say whether its own EIN service handles founders without a Social Security number.11
Its order page mentions a banking offer, but no Bizee page says it helps open a U.S. bank account. If you are a non-resident, compare providers that state these services outright on our page of agents compared for non-resident founders.

How do you reach Bizee?
Bizee lists phone support at 1 (888) 462-3453, open Monday to Friday 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. CST. Its contact page also has a web form, but no live chat. Keep in mind that, under its cancellation policy, a phone call is not how you cancel the agent service.12

Who do Bizee's published terms suit?
Bizee's terms fit some owners better than others. Each point below rests on a published fact.
These owners are a good match on Bizee's published terms.
- You're forming a new LLC and want the agent bundled. Bizee gives a free first year with any Bizee formation package, so year one has no separate agent bill.3
- You want legal papers delivered physically. Service of process is mailed via FedEx with tracking, as well as uploaded to the portal.1
- You can wait for filing. If speed isn't urgent, Basic at $0 plus the state fee is the lowest entry point Bizee publishes.4
These owners should look more closely first.
- You need ordinary mail scanned, and Bizee doesn't publish whether it does this.
- You want a renewal price fixed in the contract. The renewal figure is on marketing pages, while the cancellation policy points to the website and dashboard for the current fee.
- You want someone to file your annual report at a known price. Bizee offers it but publishes no price. In a state with no LLC annual report, such as Arizona (its Corporation Commission FAQ says only corporations file one), the service may not matter at all; see what an Arizona LLC must file each year.
- You expect to cancel by phone or email. The policy says those requests aren't accepted, and cancelling also requires a state filing first.
Which providers make a different trade-off?
These three providers differ from Bizee on a specific published point. Prices are from each provider's own pages.
Northwest Registered Agent: if you want ordinary mail scanned. Northwest lists its agent service at $125 per year. It states that it scans normal business mail, up to 5 docs per year, at no charge, a point Bizee doesn't publish. Its terms say "You may terminate or cancel your Service anytime by logging onto your account", and Northwest states there is no cancellation fee. Its LLC page lists formation at $39 + State Fees. Northwest's corporation page describes its formation price as "a total that includes one year of registered agent service", but its LLC page doesn't say the agent is included. Read the Northwest review or the Northwest vs Bizee comparison.13, 14, 15, 16
InCorp Services: if you want a lower standalone agent price and same-day scans of legal papers. InCorp lists $129/year and describes it as "a flat $129 per year that has increased exactly once since 1998." Its terms bill renewals at the "then current" fee. It states: "Legal documents scanned and delivered to you the same day they arrive." It also lists its Entity Management System (EMS), included free. The trade-off runs the other way at formation: InCorp's formation package doesn't bundle the agent (registered agent sold separately at $129 per state per year). See the InCorp review.17, 18, 19
Harbor Compliance: if you want annual report filing at a published price. Harbor Compliance lists its agent at $99 first year (new customers), renewing at $159 annually. It publishes a report filing price of $199 per state per year plus filing fees, where Bizee publishes none. Its terms differ in two ways: non-renewal notice must be given at least 90 days before the end of the current term, and its terms say "all Fees paid for the Services are non-refundable." See the Harbor Compliance review.20, 21, 22
Other head-to-heads: LegalZoom vs Bizee and Tailor Brands vs Bizee. For the lowest published agent prices side by side, see registered agent services compared on price. All providers are on the comparison table.
Bizee registered agent FAQ
Is Bizee's registered agent service really free?
It is free for the first year when you form an LLC through any Bizee package. After that it renews at $149/year (ongoing annual fee). If you already have an LLC, the standalone service costs $149/year from the start.1, 2
Will Bizee's renewal price stay the same?
Bizee's cancellation policy doesn't state an amount. It says the current renewal fee is shown on the website and in the customer dashboard. So the figure you pay at renewal is the one Bizee shows at that time.
How do I stop Bizee from renewing my registered agent service?
Bizee's policy says you cancel by assigning a new registered agent with state and notifying Bizee of the change, and that Bizee may auto-renew if notification is not provided by the expiration date. Its policy pages also say cancellation requests are not accepted by phone or email. Our guide to cancelling a registered agent explains why the state filing comes first.9
Does Bizee scan my business mail?
Bizee publishes that legal papers are mailed via FedEx with tracking and uploaded to your client portal. It doesn't publish how it handles ordinary, non-legal mail. Ask Bizee directly if you plan to receive regular mail at the agent address.1
Can I get a refund on a Bizee renewal?
Bizee's refund rule covers orders in general: they are generally refundable until payment is forwarded to any government entity, typically within twenty-four hours after an order is placed. It publishes no refund terms written for registered agent renewals. If you don't want the renewal, cancelling before the expiration date means you never have to rely on a refund.9
Does Bizee file annual reports?
Yes, Bizee says it offers annual report filing, but it doesn't publish a price for the service. Some states don't require an LLC annual report at all, so check your state's rules first. Our glossary defines the filing terms used on this page.
What is Bizee's Trustpilot rating?
Bizee's Trustpilot profile shows 4.8 / 5 (Excellent), 26,217 reviews. Its Better Business Bureau rating is C, not accredited. Ratings reflect customer experiences, not the terms covered above, so read both. Our reviews hub links the review of each provider we compare.23, 24
