Best LLC formation services in Florida

Facts checked October 13 to 14, 2026.

A Florida LLC is formed by filing the Articles of Organization with the Florida Department of State, Division of Corporations, and the state's total is $125: a $100 filing fee plus a $25 registered agent designation. You can file online or by mail, or use the walk-in service in Tallahassee. The Division posts current processing dates rather than a fixed standard, and its FAQ says "We do not offer expedited services." So no service can buy you a faster state turnaround. What a formation service adds is its own fee, its own handling time, and whatever its package bundles, such as an agent, an EIN, an operating agreement or help with the yearly report.1, 2, 3, 4

What are the steps to form an LLC in Florida?

You confirm the name, choose a registered agent who meets Florida's address rule, file the Articles with the Division, wait out the posted processing time, then get an EIN, sign an operating agreement and calendar the first annual report.

  1. Confirm the name is free. Search the Division's records for your planned name. A name reservation costs $25; the fee page we cite doesn't state how long a reservation lasts, so ask the Division if you need to hold a name while you finish other paperwork.2
  2. Choose a registered agent. Florida's statute, Fla. Stat. § 605.0113, allows an individual who resides in this state and whose business address is identical to the address of the registered office, or a business entity authorized in Florida. The Articles also list a registered office, and the statute describes it as "A registered office, which may be the same as its place of business in this state." The agent's address has to match that office, which is why a commercial agent's Florida address fills both fields. The Florida registered agent guide covers who qualifies and what being your own agent involves.5
  3. Complete the Articles of Organization. Florida's form is the Articles of Organization ($100 filing fee + $25 registered agent designation = $125). Optional extras sold with it are a certified copy $30 and a certificate of status $5. A service prepares the form for you; doing it yourself means completing the same fields.1
  4. File it. The Division accepts filings online or by mail, and walk-in filings in Tallahassee. For walk-ins its FAQ says "We can complete most walk-in services while you wait."1
  5. Wait for approval. There is no fixed standard processing time; the Division posts current processing dates. Those posted dates change daily, so check them on the day you file rather than relying on a figure from a provider's page. There is no paid rush tier to shorten this; the Division's FAQ says "We do not offer expedited services."3, 4
  6. Get an EIN. The Employer Identification Number is the LLC's federal tax ID, issued by the IRS rather than the state. Banks usually ask for it, and Florida's annual report asks for the LLC's FEI number, so the number will come up again.6
  7. Sign an operating agreement. It is an internal document among the owners that sets out ownership shares, voting and what happens when a member leaves. Several packages include a template.
  8. Put the annual report on the calendar. Every Florida LLC files a report in the window from January 1 to May 1 each year, and the report lists the name, address and title of each manager or managing member. Staying compliant in Florida covers the filing and its late fee.6

An LLC that already exists in another state follows a different path: it registers as a foreign LLC for $125 total ($100 filing fee + $25 registered agent designation) instead of filing new Articles.2

What does a Florida LLC cost with and without a service?

Florida's fees don't change with the route you choose; every package price on this page is quoted before them.

Florida Department of State, Division of Corporations fees for LLCs
FilingFee
Form the LLC$125 ($100 filing fee + $25 registered agent designation) dos.fl.gov
Reserve a name$25 dos.fl.gov
Expedited processingNot offered dos.fl.gov
Change of registered agent$25 dos.fl.gov
Recurring report$138.75 dos.fl.gov
Reinstatement after dissolution$100 plus the annual report fee for each year owed dos.fl.gov
Register an out-of-state LLC$125 total ($100 filing fee + $25 registered agent designation) dos.fl.gov

Because the $25 registered agent designation is part of Florida's $125 total, the state's bill is the same whether you name yourself or a commercial agent as registered agent. The optional state extras listed with the Articles are a certified copy $30 and a certificate of status $5. Speed upgrades sold by providers buy only their own handling, because the Division says "We do not offer expedited services." For Florida, two package details decide much of the later cost: whether a registered agent comes with it, and whether the package does anything about the yearly report. The table below lines those up.

"Not listed" means the package description we cite doesn't mention the item, so ask the provider before you pay. The full first-year and second-year arithmetic, including renewals and the report fee, is on the cheapest ways to form a Florida LLC.

What does each formation package include for a Florida LLC?

These paragraphs cover formation packages only, in the order of the provider table, which follows our score, highest first, with ties in editorial order (how we score). Agent service on its own is compared on Florida registered agent services compared.

Tailor Brands

Tailor Brands' Lite package is $0 plus state fees, with LLC formation processed within 14 business days, and its description notes no annual compliance, operating agreement or branding tools. Essential, at $199/yr plus state fees, promises LLC formation processed within 1 business day and adds annual compliance (report filing and updates), operating agreement; for a Florida LLC the report filing is the part that comes up every spring. Because Essential and Elite are billed every year, their price recurs in the way an agent fee does. Elite ($249/yr plus state fees) adds a 1-year free domain, DIY website/online store and other branding tools. Tailor Brands doesn't say whether its processing times include the Division's own review, which follows its posted dates. The package descriptions don't list a registered agent, and Tailor Brands offers EIN filing with the price not published.7, 28

ZenBusiness

The Starter package costs $0 + state fees (does not renew) and runs on 7-10 days, a figure that excludes Secretary of State time, so Florida's own processing time is added on top. Starter's EIN and operating agreement are +$99 add-ons, and the agent is an add-on +$199/yr, though new LLCs get 50% off the first year ($99) when you form an LLC. Starter also includes Worry-Free Compliance free for 1 year (then $199/yr). Pro ($199 + state fees, renews at $199/yr) includes ongoing filing compliance (state-required annual report filings and up to 2 amendments per year), along with the EIN and an operating agreement template. The Rush upgrade +$79 on Starter speeds ZenBusiness's handling; it can't change the Division's queue.9, 29

LegalZoom

LegalZoom's lowest package, $0 + state filing fees, lists the Articles of organization as its core item. The EIN costs $79, an operating agreement starts at $99, and the agent $249/year (first-time registered agent customers), each priced separately. The $249 + state filing fees tier adds attorney calls (30 days included, then $49/month auto-renew), and the $299 + state filing fees tier adds bookkeeping tools, 6-month subscription included. LegalZoom sells annual report filing for $99 + state filing fees, bills once.10, 11, 12, 30, 31

Bizee

Bizee's Basic package, $0 + state fee, includes the Registered Agent (1st year included), and the agent renews at $149/year (ongoing annual fee) after that. The EIN ($70) and operating agreement (+$99) are extras on Basic. Standard ($199 + state fee) is Basic plus EIN, operating agreement, faster processing (~2 weeks), and Bizee says Standard includes expedited filing. Premium ($299 + state fee) lists expedited filing (~4 business days). Ask Bizee what "expedited" means for a Florida filing before paying for it, because the Division says "We do not offer expedited services."4, 13, 32, 33

Swyft Filings

Swyft Filings starts at $0 + state fees for Basic, which processes in 7-10 business days. Standard, currently marked down to $169 + state fees, adds custom organizational minutes, custom banking resolution, business banking essentials, operating agreement, and Premium ($269 + state fees) lists same-day processing on Swyft's side. Every tier comes with a ComplianceGuard trial, described as including the chance to access one free annual report; Swyft doesn't say how that free report lines up with Florida's filing window, January 1 to May 1 each year, so check the dates before relying on it. No registered agent is listed in the packages; the agent alone is $149 per quarter ($596/year).6, 15, 34

doola

doola's Starter plan is $297/yr and includes LLC filing, EIN, US bank account guidance, US business address, registered agent. It quotes 1-2 business days filing on its side. Because the plan is billed yearly, the full Starter price comes back in year two rather than just an agent fee. doola says it works with a non-resident without a US SSN, which is relevant to founders forming a Florida LLC from abroad; agents for non-resident founders covers that case.16, 17, 35

Northwest Registered Agent

Northwest's package is $39 + State Fees and adds a free domain name, open source website, phone line, business email, business address, brand protection. Whether a year of agent service comes with an LLC order is unclear, because the inclusion is only stated on the corporation page; the agent alone is $125 per year. The operating agreement is a Free template, and the EIN costs $50 (with SSN); $200 without SSN. For Florida, note that Northwest enrolls agent customers in its report service at $100 + state fees, charged at filing.18, 19, 20, 36, 37, 38

Rocket Lawyer

Rocket Lawyer's offer is a first registration free with a Rocket Lawyer membership; its page adds "Additional registrations are $99 each." The cheapest membership, Standard, is $149/year, and the agent needs Plus or Pro ($125 with a Plus or Pro membership). The EIN is $70 with Plus or Pro membership. Its pricing note reads "Excludes government and third party fees." That leaves Florida's $125 to pay on top.21, 39, 40, 41

InCorp

InCorp prices formation starting at $99 plus state fees, with the registered agent sold separately at $129 per state per year. Its EIN service is $69. InCorp lists a $50.00 InCorp expedite fee and says any state expedite fee is extra. In Florida that fee only covers InCorp's own speed, because the Division says "We do not offer expedited services." Its pages also say "InCorp is not a law firm and neither InCorp nor its employees provide legal services or legal advice."4, 23, 24, 42, 43, 44

Harbor Compliance

Harbor prices formation starting at $99 plus state fees, and its page lists name check, articles, registered agent, EIN, operating agreement without saying which tier includes which item. It says "We can prepare and file the government forms to create most LLCs in one business day." Harbor advertises expedite options in most states, price not published; ask Harbor what an expedite would change here, because Florida's Division says "We do not offer expedited services." Harbor's standalone agent is $99 first year (new customers), then $159 annually.4, 26, 45, 46

Is it worth filing the Florida Articles yourself?

Filing yourself costs the state's $125 and nothing else; a service charges its package price on top in exchange for preparing the form, and sometimes bundles an agent, an EIN or report filing.2

A few features of Florida's system make filing yourself straightforward. The fee is a single figure, the form can be filed online, and there is no expedite decision to make, because the Division says "We do not offer expedited services." A service cannot speed the state's review. What it can shorten is the time before your Articles reach the Division, and that is the figure most provider pages quote.4

The agent decision is the same either way. A Florida resident can be the agent if their business address matches the registered office, under Fla. Stat. § 605.0113. The cost is that this address goes on the public record and someone must be there to accept papers. A commercial agent puts its own address there; that is true of every provider, and the annual report still asks for the LLC's own addresses (Principal and mailing addresses).6

The longer-term difference is the annual report. Any package that files it, or any provider that enrolls you in its report service, bills for that work every year, and Florida's $138.75 fee is still added. Filing it yourself costs only the state fee, as long as you file inside the window. For an LLC with co-owners or outside investors, a lawyer-drafted operating agreement may be worth more than any template a package includes. Terms used on this page are defined in the glossary, and the agent rules are in the Florida registered agent guide.2

Questions about forming a Florida LLC

How long does it take to form an LLC in Florida?

There is no fixed standard processing time in Florida, and the Division says "We do not offer expedited services." So the state's part can't be shortened by paying more. A formation service adds its own handling time before the Division's queue starts, which is the time most providers quote.3, 4

Can I file Florida Articles of Organization by mail or in person?

Yes. The Division accepts filings online or by mail, and offers walk-in service in Tallahassee, where its FAQ says "We can complete most walk-in services while you wait." The fee is $125 whichever method you choose.1, 2

Why does Florida charge a registered agent fee when I form the LLC?

Florida's formation total of $125 is a $100 filing fee plus a $25 registered agent designation. The designation fee applies whoever you name, including yourself, so a commercial agent's price is an extra on top of it, not a replacement. The cheapest ways to form a Florida LLC adds up the totals.2

Is a formation service's rush option worth it in Florida?

Only for the provider's own handling. ZenBusiness, for example, notes its processing excludes Secretary of State time, and the Division's FAQ says "We do not offer expedited services." If you are in a hurry, filing online yourself removes the provider's step entirely.4, 9

Do Florida formation packages include the annual report?

Some do. Tailor Brands' Essential includes annual compliance (report filing and updates), operating agreement, and ZenBusiness Pro lists ongoing filing compliance (state-required annual report filings and up to 2 amendments per year). Lower tiers vary: Tailor Brands' Lite has no annual compliance, operating agreement or branding tools, while ZenBusiness Starter includes Worry-Free Compliance free for 1 year (then $199/yr). Neither package description says the state's $138.75 fee is included. See annual reports explained and agents with compliance tools.2, 7, 9

Do I need a name reservation before forming a Florida LLC?

Usually not. If the name is free and you are ready to file, you can skip the reservation and file the Articles directly. A reservation costs $25, and its length isn't stated on the fee page we cite, so ask the Division before relying on one.2
