Best registered agent services in Wisconsin

Facts checked October 13 to 14, 2026.

All 10 services in the table below sell registered agent service, and most of them say they cover every state. Wisconsin law, Wis. Stat. § 183.0115, requires the registered office to be an actual physical location with a street address and not solely a post office box, mailbox service, or telephone answering service, so whichever service you hire must supply an office that meets that test. What sets Wisconsin apart from states with no yearly filing is the annual report: it is due each year after the year of registration, during the calendar quarter in which the registration anniversary falls, and it repeats the agent's details. That makes two things worth comparing beside the agent price: what a provider charges to file that report for you, and how cheaply you can leave it.1, 2

"Score" is our editorial score out of 10, built from published facts: half from the Trustpilot rating, the rest from breadth of services, dashboard and mail scanning, and package value and two-year cost (how we score; scores approved 2026-10-14). We don't test services. Trustpilot ratings are third-party, cited to Trustpilot, and not adjusted.

The score uses only cited facts: Trustpilot rating, breadth of services and dashboard, and value and cost. Its weights and each provider's breakdown sit on how we score. We don't test services and don't adjust the Trustpilot figure, which appears as its own column with its own source.

For Wisconsin, each paragraph also notes the provider's published annual report service and its price, because a Wisconsin LLC has a report to file every year. If a provider doesn't publish a fact, the paragraph says so. What a registered agent does in general is explained in what a registered agent does.

Which Wisconsin rules change the comparison?

The office must be at a real street address, the agent's details go on a yearly report, and switching is cheap, so renewal and exit terms weigh as much as the entry price.

A street address, plus an email. Under Wis. Stat. § 183.0115, the registered office has to be a physical place with a street address. A mailbox service alone doesn't qualify. A commercial agent puts its own office address in the agent field; that is how every commercial agent works, not a perk of one brand. The annual report form also asks for the registered agent name/email and office address, so the agent you hire needs to give you an email for the state's records. Who may serve and the full office rules are on the Wisconsin registered agent guide.3

The annual report gives compliance features real work. The Wisconsin Department of Financial Institutions (DFI) expects a report each year after the year of registration, filed during the calendar quarter in which the registration anniversary falls. The fee is $25 online or $40 by mail. Most providers below sell a service that files it for you, at published prices from $89 + state fees to $199 per state per year plus filing fees. The rules for that report, and what happens when one is missed, are on staying compliant in Wisconsin.4

Leaving a provider costs little at the state level. A Statement of Change of Registered Agent (Form 13) costs $10 online or $25 by mail, and DFI's FAQ notes the agent can also be changed on the annual report. With a state fee that small, a long notice period or a closed refund window is usually the bigger cost of switching. The order of steps is in how to change a registered agent.4, 5

How do the registered agent services compare for a Wisconsin LLC?

The paragraphs follow the table's order. Each one sticks to the provider's own published terms and then notes how they meet Wisconsin's yearly report.

Tailor Brands

The agent at Tailor Brands is $199/year, with renewal at $199/year (renews at the same price); both figures are supplied by the provider. Its page says incoming documents are scanned and uploaded to the business dashboard. Its agent page also says the agent can file the annual report if instructed, and its Essential formation plan ($199/yr plus state fees) lists annual compliance (report filing and updates), which in Wisconsin points at a real yearly filing. Its terms add one restriction: the agent address cannot be used as the business location in public materials. For a public-facing address it sells a separate Virtual Address product, with no published price. Its terms set auto-renewal on by default for subscription services, and a $29 service fee comes off any refund it does issue. Full detail is in the Tailor Brands review.6, 7, 8, 9, 10

ZenBusiness

At ZenBusiness the agent is $199/year, renewing at $199/yr, and it offers 50% off the first year ($99) when you form an LLC. Its agent page lists annual report reminders among what the agent sends. Filing the Wisconsin report through ZenBusiness is a separate purchase, listed as Annual Report Filing $100 per report, compared with the state's own $25 online fee. Documents are scanned, with originals forwarded only if they can't be copied. Cancelling happens by contacting customer support by phone, and a refund is possible only if the service has not yet been used. See the ZenBusiness review.11, 12, 13

LegalZoom

LegalZoom's agent costs $249/year (first-time registered agent customers). The service renews at the purchase rate each year; rate subject to change. The service comes with email reminders about annual report deadlines, and LegalZoom sells a one-time annual report filing at $99 + state filing fees. Its agent page says proof of new RA may be required when you cancel, so a Wisconsin owner would file the statement of change first. Its agent terms say prepaid fees for the current term are refunded only when LegalZoom terminates the service. More in the LegalZoom review.14, 15, 16

Bizee

Bizee charges $149/year for the agent alone and renews at $149/year (ongoing annual fee); with formation it offers a free first year with any Bizee formation package. Its page says service of process is mailed via FedEx with tracking, and it lists free lifetime compliance notifications about state requirements. Bizee says it files annual reports but doesn't publish the price. Cancelling means assigning a new registered agent with the state and notifying Bizee of the change, and orders are generally refundable until payment is forwarded to a government entity. A separate virtual address costs $29/month. Read the Bizee review.17, 18, 19, 20

Swyft Filings

Swyft Filings bills the agent by the quarter, at $149 per quarter ($596/year), so its yearly total sits well above most others here. Its page says legal papers are typically available within 2-3 hours. For the yearly report it sells ComplianceGuard $199/year (annual report filing included, state fee applies). Its terms say a replacement agent must be designated (or business dissolved) before cancellation; in Wisconsin that means the statement of change, or the change made on an annual report, goes on file first. Refunds are decided case-by-case by charge type and order status, with no published time limit. See the Swyft Filings review.21, 22, 23, 24

doola

doola's agent page quotes $297 per year, and the agent is free with Formation Service, doola's term for its formation package. It offers same-day scans, but physical mail forwarding is not included in base RA subscription unless stated in plan. The agent service includes annual report notifications; filing the report itself sits in doola's Tax and Compliance plan at $1,999/yr, not in Starter. Its terms say recurring fees auto-renew. doola doesn't state its state coverage on the pages we checked. See the doola review.25, 26, 27

Northwest Registered Agent

Northwest charges $125 per year and lists normal business mail scanned up to 5 docs per year free. For Wisconsin owners, one term needs reading closely: its page says agent customers are auto-enrolled in Compliance Services billed in annual auto-pay, and its annual report service is $100 + state fees, charged at filing. Its terms say automatic payment applies unless you choose to opt out, which is the step for an owner who would rather file the $25 online report alone. It also sells Mail Forwarding $20/month (24 select states). You can cancel anytime through the online account, with no cancellation fee, and purchases are non-refundable after 90 days. See the Northwest review.28, 29, 30, 31, 32

Rocket Lawyer

Rocket Lawyer's agent is $125 with a Plus or Pro membership, so it rides on a yearly membership: Plus at $249/year or Pro at $349/year. Report filing comes only with Pro, at $100 with Pro membership, excluding state fees. The agent renews for successive 1-year terms, and refunds must be requested within 30 days of purchase. Add the membership to the agent price before comparing it with anyone else. Read the Rocket Lawyer review.33, 34, 35, 36

InCorp Services

InCorp lists the agent at $129/year, described as a $129 per year flat rate, though its terms bill renewals at the fee then in effect. Its Entity Management System (EMS), included free, holds documents and a compliance calendar, and its annual report filing is $89 + state fees, the lowest published report-filing price among these providers. To stop the agent you must meet a condition: dissolve entity, appoint new agent, or resign InCorp with fees. Refund requests are accepted within 60 days of issuance of services. Read the InCorp review.37, 38, 39, 40

Harbor Compliance

Harbor Compliance charges new customers $99 first year and then renews at $159 annually. Its agent service includes annual report filing reminders. Its managed report service is $199 per state per year plus filing fees, the same yearly figure as Swyft's ComplianceGuard. Non-renewal notice is due at least 90 days before the end of the current term, and its terms make all fees non-refundable. More in the Harbor Compliance review.41, 42, 43

Which best-for lists apply in Wisconsin?

Each of our best-for lists is decided by one published fact, and several of those facts carry extra weight for a Wisconsin LLC.

What does a registered agent cost in Wisconsin in year one and later?

Year one is the $130 online filing fee, or more on paper, plus the agent's first-year price. From the next year on, add the annual report ($25 online) and the agent's renewal.4

The report isn't due in the year the LLC registers, which is why year one carries no report fee. Year two is the first with both recurring charges.

Wisconsin registered agent services: common questions

Do I need a registered agent with a Wisconsin street address?

Yes. Wis. Stat. § 183.0115 says the registered office must be an actual physical location with a street address and not solely a post office box, mailbox service, or telephone answering service. A commercial service puts its own qualifying office in the agent field. If you serve yourself, your own street address is the one that goes on file.1

Is a provider's annual report service worth it in Wisconsin?

It depends on whether you would rather pay a provider than file yourself. The state fee is $25 online, and published provider prices range from InCorp's $89 + state fees to Harbor Compliance's $199 per state per year plus filing fees. Some providers, Northwest for one, enrol agent customers in report filing by default, so check your account settings.4, 39, 42

How do I switch registered agents in Wisconsin, and what does it cost?

The state charges $10 online or $25 by mail for a Statement of Change of Registered Agent (Form 13), and DFI notes the agent can also be changed on the annual report. Several providers, including Bizee and Swyft Filings, want the new agent on file before they cancel. The Wisconsin registered agent guide covers the steps.4, 5

What if my Wisconsin annual report, with the agent's details, is late?

DFI lists no late fee; instead the LLC becomes delinquent until a current report is filed with any back fees. What delinquency can lead to is covered on staying compliant in Wisconsin. A provider's reminders help only if the email on file reaches you.2

Can the agent's address double as my Wisconsin business address?

Not with every provider. Tailor Brands' terms say the agent address cannot be used as the business location in public materials, and several providers sell a separate address product instead, such as Northwest's Mail Forwarding $20/month (24 select states). The agent's address fills only the agent field. Our privacy list explains what stays on the public record.9, 31

How is this list ordered?

By our score, highest first, with ties in editorial order. The largest part of the score comes from each provider's Trustpilot rating, which reflects the company as a whole rather than its Wisconsin office, so compare the terms above for your own LLC. The method is on how we score.
