Best registered agent services in Alaska
Facts checked October 13 to 15, 2026.
Each of the 10 services on this page sells registered agent service an Alaska LLC can name, and most say they cover every state; the paragraphs below point out the ones that don't state their coverage. Under AS 10.50.055, the agent is either an Alaska resident or a domestic or foreign corporation authorized to transact business in this state, in both cases one whose business office is the same as the registered office, so a national service needs a working office in Alaska. What sets Alaska apart for a buyer is the report calendar. A new LLC owes an initial report within 6 months of formation, then a biennial report every other year, so a compliance feature sold as "annual" files less often here than its name suggests. Price the renewal, check how lawsuit papers reach you, and read the exit terms before you pick.1, 2
How is this list ordered, and which facts were compared?
Providers are listed by our score, highest first, with tied scores placed in editorial order, and for each one we read the same published facts on price, renewal, document delivery, cancellation and refunds.
Our score uses only cited, published facts: the Trustpilot rating, breadth of service and dashboard, and value and cost. The method and every provider's breakdown are on how we score. We don't buy or test services. The Trustpilot rating appears beside our score in the table as a separate third-party figure, cited to Trustpilot and left unadjusted.

"Score" is our editorial score out of 10, built from published facts: half from the Trustpilot rating, the rest from breadth of services, dashboard and mail scanning, and package value and two-year cost (how we score; scores approved 2026-10-14). We don't test services. Trustpilot ratings are third-party, cited to Trustpilot, and not adjusted.
For each provider we looked for the agent price, the renewal price, how legal papers are delivered, whether a separate business address or mail product is sold, how auto-renewal and cancellation work, and the refund terms. Every fact is cited. It comes from the provider's own site or terms, or is marked as supplied by the provider, and where a provider is silent on a point, the paragraph says it doesn't publish it. If you want the background on the role itself first, read what a registered agent does.
How do Alaska's filing rules change what to compare?
Alaska ties the agent to an in-state office, handles agent changes on a paper form, and runs its reports on an initial-then-biennial schedule, so exit terms and report filing deserve as much attention as the sticker price.
The agent's office is the registered office. AS 10.50.055 lets an individual serve only if their business office is the registered office, and the same goes for a corporation acting as agent. A national service can meet it only through an office in Alaska, and that office is what appears in the agent field of your filing. The same is true of every agent, so it isn't something one provider adds. Who may serve, and what it takes to act as your own agent, is covered in the Alaska registered agent guide.
Switching agents runs through a paper form. A new service is named on the Statement of Change (Form 08-409), which costs $25. The Division's fees page lists it as paper (PDF) filing only, and its stated time for paper filings is normally 10-15 business days. One more limit applies: agent changes cannot be made on the biennial report. Keep the old service in place until the change is on file. Several providers below make that order a condition of cancelling anyway.3, 4
Reports come on Alaska's own clock. After formation there is an initial report within 6 months of formation, with no fee, filed online. From then on, the biennial report is due by January 2, costs $100 for a domestic LLC, and rises to $137.50 on or after February 2. Its year follows the formation year (due in January of even years if the LLC first filed in an even year, odd years if odd). A provider that files "annual reports" for you is filing this report every other year in Alaska, while some bill for that service every year. What each report asks for is on staying compliant in Alaska.2, 4, 5
A gap without an agent becomes a dissolution risk fast. If an agent quits, the resignation is effective 30 days after filing, or earlier if a successor agent is appointed. An LLC that fails for 30 days to appoint and maintain a registered agent can be dissolved by the commissioner, so a provider's resignation or a lapsed payment needs a quick replacement.6, 7
How do the registered agent services compare for an Alaska LLC?
The order below matches the table above. Each heading covers one provider's published agent terms and the parts that touch Alaska's rules.
Tailor Brands
Tailor Brands lists its agent service at $199/year and its renewal as $199/year (renews at the same price); the provider supplied both figures. It states coverage in all 50 states and lists documents scanned and uploaded to the business dashboard. Its page also says the agent can file the annual report if instructed, which in Alaska would mean the biennial report. One term limits how the address may be used: agent address cannot be used as the business location in public materials. A separate Virtual Address product is offered for a business address, with no price published. Its terms set auto-renewal on by default for subscription services, and fees are non-refundable to the maximum extent permitted by law, with a $29 service fee deducted from any refund issued. The Essential package ($199/yr plus state fees) lists annual compliance (report filing and updates); Tailor Brands doesn't say whether that covers Alaska's initial report as well as the biennial one. See the Tailor Brands review.8, 9, 10, 11, 12
ZenBusiness
ZenBusiness prices the agent at $199/year and renews it at $199/yr, with 50% off the first year ($99) when you form an LLC. It describes a secure online dashboard with email notifications. Its terms send scans, with originals forwarded only if they can't be copied. Cancelling is by contacting customer support by phone, and a refund is possible only if the service has not yet been used. Its formation packages don't include the agent; it is an add-on +$199/yr. For reports, ZenBusiness sells annual report filing $100 per report, so in Alaska you would pay that once each biennial cycle if you buy it per report. Read the ZenBusiness review.13, 14, 15, 16
LegalZoom
LegalZoom charges $249/year (first-time registered agent customers), and its renewal terms read: Renews at the purchase rate each year; rate subject to change. Its page lists legal documents scanned and uploaded, and other mail is uploaded to your account. Cancelling is by phone or online via My Account, and proof of new RA may be required, so plan for the paper change form to clear the Division first. LegalZoom is the one provider here whose compliance product names the initial report: its Compliance Filings plan covers initial report filing and auto-filing of annual reports and starts at $199/year, auto-renews. LegalZoom doesn't state its state coverage on the pages we read. More in the LegalZoom review.17, 18, 19
Bizee
Bizee sells the agent at $149/year, renewing at $149/year (ongoing annual fee), and gives a free first year with any Bizee formation package. It names all 50 states as its coverage. Service of process, the formal delivery of a lawsuit, is mailed via FedEx with tracking. Its terms say services may automatically renew. You leave by assigning a new registered agent with the state and notifying Bizee of the change, which in Alaska means the paper Statement of Change goes in first. Orders are generally refundable until payment is forwarded to a government entity. Bizee offers annual report filing but doesn't publish a standalone price for it. Read the Bizee review.20, 21, 22, 23
Swyft Filings
Swyft Filings quotes its agent at $149 per quarter ($596/year) and says it renews at $149 per quarter, auto-renews until cancelled. It covers all 50 states and posts documents to a dashboard, with legal SOP typically within 2-3 hours. Another page says the service renews annually with reminders before renewal, which reads differently from quarterly billing, so check the schedule at checkout. Its terms require that a replacement agent must be designated (or business dissolved) before cancellation. Refunds are handled case-by-case by charge type and order status. Its report service, ComplianceGuard $199/year, is billed by the year even though an Alaska LLC files every other year. See the Swyft Filings review.24, 25, 26, 27, 28
doola
doola's agent page quotes $297 per year, which is also what its Starter formation plan costs ($297/yr), and the page doesn't say whether that price buys the agent by itself. The agent is listed as RA free with Formation Service. It offers same-day scans, but physical forwarding is not included in base RA subscription unless stated in plan. The service includes annual report notifications. Its terms say recurring fees auto-renew. The only refund route its terms describe is for applications: a refund may be possible if application cancelled before it is sent to the state. doola doesn't state its state coverage on the pages we read. See the doola review.29, 30, 31
Northwest Registered Agent
Northwest charges $125 per year. It says it has offices in all 50 states plus D.C. and Puerto Rico, and it lists normal business mail scanned up to 5 docs per year free. Under its auto-pay terms, agent customers are enrolled in its compliance service (RA customers auto-enrolled in Compliance Services billed in annual auto-pay). The report service itself is $100 + state fees, charged at filing, so for an Alaska LLC that charge would come in the years a biennial report is filed. Northwest also sells Mail Forwarding $20/month (24 select states), so check whether Alaska is on its list of those states. You can cancel anytime through the online account; no cancellation fee. Purchases become non-refundable after 90 days. See the Northwest review.32, 33, 34, 35, 36, 37
Rocket Lawyer
Rocket Lawyer's agent costs $125 with a Plus or Pro membership, and the membership is billed on its own each year: Plus is $249/year and Pro is $349/year. Add the two together to get the yearly cost. Coverage is all 50 states. Documents are scanned and uploaded to email and account. The service renews for successive 1-year terms. Cancel any time by phone, before renewal date; refund requests must come within 30 days of purchase. Report filing is $100 with Pro membership, excluding state fees. Read the Rocket Lawyer review.38, 39, 40, 41
InCorp Services
InCorp prices the agent at $129/year and calls it a $129 per year flat rate, though its terms bill renewals at the then-current fee. It covers all 50 states, DC, Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands, and legal documents are scanned and delivered same day. Service continues and is billed at then-current fee unless a cancellation condition is met; the conditions are to dissolve entity, appoint new agent, or resign InCorp with fees. Refund requests must come within 60 days of issuance of services, and its terms list this exception: discounted services nonrefundable. InCorp's annual report service is $89 + state fees. Read the InCorp review.42, 43, 44, 45
Harbor Compliance
Harbor Compliance charges $99 first year (new customers) and renews at $159 annually. It advertises same-day document scanning. To stop renewal you must give notice at least 90 days before the end of the current term, which, with a paper change form, leaves little slack if you plan to switch near the end of a term. Its terms say all Fees paid for the Services are non-refundable. The managed report service is $199 per state per year plus filing fees, a yearly charge for a report Alaska asks for every other year. More in the Harbor Compliance review.46, 47, 48
What does a registered agent cost an Alaska LLC in year one and after?
Year one is the $250 filing fee for the Articles plus the agent's first-year price; the initial report adds no state fee (no fee, filed online).49
From year two, the steady cost is the agent's renewal each year plus the $100 biennial report every other year. Filing late raises the report to $137.50 on or after February 2.2, 4

The gap between first-year and renewal prices takes several forms.
- ZenBusiness cuts the first year when you form with it, then renews at $199/yr.14
- Bizee's first year is free with a formation package; after that it is $149/year (ongoing annual fee).21
- Harbor Compliance's $99 first year (new customers) becomes $159 annually.46
- Swyft Filings bills by the quarter.
- Rocket Lawyer's price assumes a paid membership.
When you add a report-filing service, count how many Alaska reports it will actually file in the period you pay for. A long-term owner should weigh the renewal column more heavily than the first-year one. The full formation arithmetic is on the cheapest ways to form an Alaska LLC, and formation packages are compared on Alaska LLC formation services. Questions about Alaska registered agent services
Can a registered agent service file my Alaska biennial report?
Several sell that service, but in Alaska it files only every other year, so check whether you are billed per report or per year. ZenBusiness sells annual report filing $100 per report, Northwest's is $100 + state fees, charged at filing, and Harbor Compliance charges $199 per state per year plus filing fees. The report is due by January 2 and costs $100 in state fees on top of any provider charge. Annual reports explained covers how these services work in general.4, 5, 13, 35, 48
How long does it take to switch registered agent services in Alaska?
Expect the paper processing time, because the Statement of Change is filed on paper and the Division says paper filings are normally 10-15 business days. The state fee is $25. One more limit: agent changes cannot be made on the biennial report. Keep paying the old service until the change is on file; how to change a registered agent walks through the order.3, 4
Do agent services cover Alaska's initial report?
Only LegalZoom's published compliance product names it: Compliance Filings covers initial report filing and auto-filing of annual reports. The report is due within 6 months of formation and has no fee, filed online, so you can also file it yourself. The other providers here don't say whether their report services include it, so ask before paying for that feature.2, 19
What happens if my Alaska agent resigns or I stop paying?
A resigning agent's resignation is effective 30 days after filing, sooner if you name a replacement, and an LLC that fails for 30 days to appoint and maintain a registered agent can be dissolved. Most services here renew automatically; Harbor's terms, for instance, need notice at least 90 days before the end of the current term. Read how to cancel a registered agent before stopping payment.6, 7, 47
Can I use the agent's Alaska address as my business address?
That depends on the provider's terms, and some forbid it. Tailor Brands' terms say agent address cannot be used as the business location in public materials. Every agent's address sits in the agent field of your filing whichever service you pick. Some providers sell a separate address or mail product instead; Bizee's is $29/month; 1 month free with Bizee LLC formation, and Northwest's mail forwarding covers only some states. What a registered agent can keep off the record explains what stays public.50
How is the provider list on this page ordered?
By our score, highest first, with ties in editorial order, and the score is built only from published, cited facts. The largest part comes from each provider's Trustpilot rating, which reflects the company as a whole rather than its Alaska service. The method is on how we score; for report reminders and filing, see agents with compliance tools.
