How is this list ordered, and what did we compare?

Providers are listed by our score, highest first, with tied scores in editorial order, and each was compared on the same published facts about price, renewal, document handling, cancellation and refunds.

A tie in the order says nothing about which provider is better. Our score uses only cited, published facts, grouped into customer satisfaction, breadth of service and dashboard, and value and cost; the method and every provider's breakdown are on how we score. We don't buy or test services. Trustpilot ratings appear next to our score as a separate third-party figure, cited to Trustpilot and left unadjusted.

"Score" is our editorial score out of 10, built from published facts: half from the Trustpilot rating, the rest from breadth of services, dashboard and mail scanning, and package value and two-year cost (how we score; scores approved 2026-10-14). We don't test services. Trustpilot ratings are third-party, cited to Trustpilot, and not adjusted.

For each provider we looked at the agent price, its renewal, how legal papers are delivered, whether a separate business address is sold, and the auto-renewal, cancellation and refund terms. Every fact comes from the provider's own pages or terms, or is marked as supplied by the provider, and appears in the Sources list. What do Indiana's rules mean for the service you choose?

Indiana's rules keep the choice simple: any listed service with an Indiana street address qualifies, switching costs nothing at the state, and the main recurring filing is a low-fee report due every other year.

A street address in Indiana. Where Indiana's agent chapter asks for an address, the record must state a street address in this state (Ind. Code § 23-0.5-4-3). A commercial agent meets this with its own Indiana street address, and that address goes in the agent field of your Articles of Organization. Switching is free. The Statement of Change of Registered Agent (State Form 56367) carries no fee. With the filing free, the real cost of leaving a provider sits in its own terms: a notice period, a refund window or an auto-renewal date. Steps are in how to change a registered agent.^{1, 3}

The report comes every other year. Indiana's Business Entity Report (biennial, State Form 48725) is due every other year, in the anniversary month of the LLC's formation, and the fee is $20 online or $50 by paper filing. Several providers sell report filing by the year. In Indiana a yearly plan keeps billing in the years with no report, while a per-report price is charged only when a report is filed. A resigning agent sets a deadline. If your agent resigns, the resignation takes effect on the 31st day after the Secretary of State files it, or sooner once you name a new agent, and the agent must promptly notify the LLC. Going without an agent for 60 consecutive days is grounds for administrative dissolution.¹

How do the registered agent services compare for Indiana?

Tailor Brands

Tailor Brands prices registered agent service at $199/year and gives its renewal as $199/year (renews at the same price), both supplied by the provider. It says it serves all 50 states and lists documents scanned and uploaded to the business dashboard. Its terms state that the agent address cannot be used as the business location in public materials; for a public business address it sells a separate Virtual Address product and doesn't publish its price. There is auto-renewal on by default for subscription services, and fees are non-refundable to the maximum extent permitted by law. The Essential formation package ($199/yr plus state fees) includes annual compliance (report filing and updates), and the package bills yearly while Indiana's report is due every other year. ZenBusiness

ZenBusiness lists its agent at $199/year, renewing at $199/yr, with 50% off the first year ($99) when you form an LLC. For an Indiana LLC its two report options price differently. Annual Report Filing is charged $100 per report, while Worry-Free Compliance is a yearly plan at $199/year. Cancelling is by contacting customer support by phone, and a refund is possible only if the service has not yet been used. See the ZenBusiness review.^{10, 11, 12}

LegalZoom

LegalZoom charges $249/year (first-time registered agent customers), and the service renews at the purchase rate each year; rate subject to change. It lists legal documents scanned and uploaded. One fact applies directly to this state: LegalZoom's Compliance Filings subscription, which starts at $199/year, says its auto-filing excludes Indiana, Maryland, Wyoming. LegalZoom also lists a one-time annual report filing at $99 + state filing fees, billed once, and that listing doesn't say whether it covers Indiana. Cancellation is by phone or online, and proof of new RA may be required, so the State Form 56367 filing comes first. Bizee

Bizee's agent costs $149/year and renews at $149/year (ongoing annual fee), with a free first year with any Bizee formation package. Service of process is mailed via FedEx with tracking, and it lists documents uploaded to client portal. To leave, you cancel by assigning a new registered agent with the state and notifying Bizee of the change; in Indiana that state step is the free State Form 56367 filing. Its general refund terms say orders are generally refundable until payment is forwarded to a government entity; Bizee doesn't publish refund terms specific to the agent service. Swyft Filings

Swyft Filings bills its agent at $149 per quarter ($596/year), a quarterly charge that adds up to the yearly figure in brackets. For service of process its page gives this timing: legal SOP typically within 2-3 hours. Its terms say a replacement agent must be designated (or business dissolved) before cancellation. Its report product, ComplianceGuard $199/year, is a yearly charge, so in Indiana it keeps billing in the years when no report is due. doola

doola's agent page lists $297 per year, the same figure as its Starter formation plan, and says the agent is free with Formation Service, without saying for how long. It offers same-day scans; paper forwarding is not included in base RA subscription unless stated in plan. Its plan details say Starter does not include ongoing compliance filings, though the agent service includes annual report notifications. Its general terms say you can delete account any time, or email help@doola.com; doola doesn't publish a cancellation step specific to the agent. doola doesn't publish its state coverage on the pages we checked. Northwest Registered Agent

Northwest charges $125 per year and says it covers all 50 states plus D.C. and Puerto Rico. Its terms add a detail: RA customers auto-enrolled in Compliance Services billed in annual auto-pay. Its annual report page prices that service at $100 + state fees, charged at filing, while its auto-pay terms place it in the annual auto-pay charge; Northwest doesn't say how that works for a report due every other year. Rocket Lawyer

Rocket Lawyer's agent is $125 with a Plus or Pro membership, so the yearly cost is the agent plus a membership: Plus at $249/year or Pro at $349/year. Report filing is $100 with Pro membership, excluding state fees, which leaves it out of Plus. The service renews in successive 1-year terms, and you can cancel any time by phone, before renewal date. InCorp Services

InCorp lists $129/year, and its terms say the service is billed at then-current fee unless a cancellation condition is met. Legal documents are scanned and delivered same day. Its terms list the ways to stop paying, each to be completed before the annual fee falls due: dissolve entity, appoint new agent, or resign InCorp with fees. Report filing is sold at $89 + state fees. Refund requests must come within 60 days of issuance of services, and its terms add: discounted services nonrefundable. Harbor Compliance

Harbor Compliance charges new customers $99 first year and renews at $159 annually. Non-renewal notice must reach Harbor at least 90 days before the end of the current term, and its terms say all Fees paid for the Services are non-refundable. Which best-for picks apply to an Indiana LLC?

The site's best-for lists use the same published facts nationwide; in Indiana, the compliance list needs an adjustment because of LegalZoom's exclusion.

• Agents for compliance groups providers that file reports for you. In Indiana, LegalZoom's subscription auto-filing does not apply, as its own description says the auto-filing excludes Indiana.¹⁴
• Agents for first-time founders looks at report filing, coaching and AI guidance included in a plan.

• Agents for privacy lists providers that sell a separate business address or mail product.

What does a registered agent cost in Indiana in year one and later?

In year one an Indiana LLC pays the Articles fee, $75 online or $100 by paper filing, plus the agent's first-year price; after that, the agent renewal recurs every year and the report fee is added in report years.¹

The report fee of $20 online is small next to most agent renewals, so over several years the renewal column above decides most of the bill. Where first-year and renewal prices differ, the gap shows up in different ways.

• Bizee's agent comes with a free first year with any Bizee formation package, then renews at $149/year (ongoing annual fee).^{18, 19}
• ZenBusiness offers 50% off the first year ($99) when you form an LLC, then renews at $199/yr.¹¹
• Harbor Compliance moves from its new-customer price to $159 annually.⁴²
• Swyft Filings bills $149 per quarter ($596/year).²²
• Rocket Lawyer adds a membership on top, Plus at $249/year or Pro at $349/year.³⁵
