Best registered agent services in Missouri

Facts checked October 13 to 15, 2026.

The 10 services compared below all sell registered agent service; LegalZoom and doola don't publish their state coverage, and the rest say they serve every state (Tailor Brands, for one, says it covers all 50 states). Under Mo. Rev. Stat. § 347.030, the agent must be an individual resident of Missouri or a domestic or foreign corporation authorized to do business in Missouri, and its business office must match the LLC's registered office, so a commercial service supplies a Missouri office that becomes yours on file. Missouri LLCs do not have to file annual reports with the Secretary of State, which means report-filing features add little here. The useful comparison is renewal price, how lawsuit papers reach you, and what each provider's terms require before you can leave.1, 2, 3

"Score" is our editorial score out of 10, built from published facts: half from the Trustpilot rating, the rest from breadth of services, dashboard and mail scanning, and package value and two-year cost (how we score; scores approved 2026-10-14). We don't test services. Trustpilot ratings are third-party, cited to Trustpilot, and not adjusted.

For each provider we pulled the same set of facts from its own pages or terms: the agent price, the renewal price, how legal papers are delivered, whether it sells a separate business address, how renewal and cancellation work, and what its refund terms say. When a provider doesn't publish one of these, the paragraph says so. The method and each provider's score breakdown sit on how we score, and a primer on the role itself is in what a registered agent does.

How do Missouri's rules shape the choice of agent?

Who may serve, the agent's office doubling as the registered office, and the lack of an annual report decide what is worth comparing in Missouri. Together they put the weight on renewal and exit terms.

The agent's office is your registered office

Missouri ties the two together. The statute describes the agent as one whose business office is identical with the registered office. Hiring a commercial service therefore puts that service's Missouri address on file as your LLC's registered office, whichever provider you pick. That is the same for every service on this page, so it isn't a reason to choose one over another.2

What differs is how a provider lets you use that address. Some terms forbid presenting it as your place of business, and several providers sell a separate business address for that purpose. Whether a separate address can go into another field of your Missouri filings is a question for the Secretary of State. The Missouri registered agent guide covers who may serve and the office rules in full.

No annual report means fewer moving parts

Missouri LLCs do not have to file annual reports with the Secretary of State, so there is no report fee ($0). Several providers below bundle annual report reminders or filing with their agent service. For an LLC registered only in Missouri, those features have no Missouri report to track. They come back into play if the LLC later registers in a state that does require one; annual reports explained shows how they work elsewhere.3

A cheap change form makes exit terms worth reading

Switching agents costs $10 with the Statement of Change of Registered Agent or Registered Office (Corp. 59). Because the state fee is so low, a provider's notice period, refund window or cancellation steps can cost more than the state filing. The full process is in how to change a registered agent.4, 5

How do the registered agent services compare for a Missouri LLC?

Each provider below appears in the same order as the table above, with its published terms and how they play out under Missouri's rules.

Tailor Brands

Tailor Brands prices its agent at $199/year, with renewal listed as $199/year (renews at the same price); the provider supplied both figures. Legal papers go to an LLC dashboard with new-document notifications. Its terms say: "You must not designate or otherwise refer to the Registered Address as your business location in any public materials." So in Missouri the registered office the service supplies is for legal mail, not for your website or letterhead. For a public-facing address it sells a Virtual Address product, a professional business address in its own words, with no published price. The terms describe auto-renewal on by default for subscription services. You leave by notifying Tailor Brands and completing the required steps. Fees are generally non-refundable, with a $29 service fee deducted from any refund issued. Read the Tailor Brands review for its formation plans.1, 6, 7, 8

ZenBusiness

ZenBusiness charges $199/year and renews at $199/yr, and it takes 50% off the first year ($99) when you form an LLC. Its agent page describes the role as passing on state compliance notices, and annual report reminders; a Missouri-only LLC has no report for the reminders to cover. ZenBusiness lists documents scanned and uploaded to dashboard, with originals forwarded only if they can't be copied. Cancelling is done by contacting customer support by phone, and a refund is available only if the service has not yet been used. The ZenBusiness review covers its packages.9, 10, 11

LegalZoom

LegalZoom lists $249/year (first-time registered agent customers). Its terms say the service auto-renews at the purchase rate each year until you cancel, and add: "The renewal rate is subject to change." LegalZoom describes secure cloud storage of documents. Its agent terms describe one refund case: prepaid fees for current term refunded only when LegalZoom terminates the service. You can cancel by phone or online via My Account, though LegalZoom may require proof that a new registered agent has been designated with your state, so file Missouri's change form first. LegalZoom doesn't publish its state coverage on the pages we checked. See the LegalZoom review.12, 13

Bizee

Bizee charges $149/year on its own and renews at $149/year (ongoing annual fee), while anyone who forms the LLC through Bizee gets the agent free for the first year with any Bizee formation package. Bizee describes "owning and operating our own offices in all 50 states" and lists free lifetime compliance notifications. Its cancellation rule is tied to the state record: you cancel by assigning a new registered agent with the state and notifying Bizee of the change, so in Missouri the new agent's statement of change is filed before you notify Bizee. Bizee publishes no agent-specific refund terms; its general order terms say orders are generally refundable until payment is forwarded to a government entity. The Bizee review has more.14, 15, 16, 17

Swyft Filings

Swyft Filings quotes $149 per quarter ($596/year), a quarterly charge that adds up to more per year than any other agent price on this page. Its page puts the timing for lawsuit papers as legal SOP typically within 2-3 hours, and stores them in a secure online dashboard. Its FAQ also says the service renews annually with reminders before renewal, which sits awkwardly beside the quarterly price, so confirm the billing cycle before paying. Its help page says a replacement agent must be designated (or business dissolved) before cancellation. Refunds are judged case by case, with no published time window. See the Swyft Filings review.18, 19, 20, 21

doola

doola's agent page lists $297 per year, which equals its Starter formation plan ($297/yr), and the page doesn't say plainly whether that buys the agent on its own. A note on the same page reads: "Registered Agent is free with doola’s Formation Service," without saying for how long. Its terms add: "Physical mail forwarding is not included in your base registered agent subscription unless otherwise stated in your plan." They also say recurring fees auto-renew. doola publishes no agent-specific cancellation steps; its general terms let you delete your account at any time. doola doesn't publish its state coverage on the pages we checked. See the doola review.22, 23, 24

Northwest Registered Agent

Northwest charges $125 per year. Its corporation page describes a total that includes one year of registered agent service; its LLC page doesn't say the same. Legal documents go to your online account, and it lists normal business mail scanned up to 5 docs per year free; if a scan fails, originals can be forwarded for a fee within 30 days of receipt. Northwest's annual report service notes that registered agent customers are auto-enrolled, and the service is charged at filing. Missouri LLCs file no annual report, so ask Northwest whether that enrolment carries any charge for a Missouri-only LLC. You can cancel anytime through the online account, with no cancellation fee, and purchases are non-refundable after 90 days. More in the Northwest review.25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30

Rocket Lawyer

Rocket Lawyer's agent costs $125 with a Plus or Pro membership, and that membership is its own yearly charge: Plus at $249/year or Pro at $349/year. Its pricing page notes: "Billed yearly after free 7-day trial." The agent renews in successive 1-year terms. You can cancel at any time by contacting Rocket Lawyer, and the terms say the service must be canceled prior to the renewal date to avoid recurring annual charges. Refund requests must arrive within 30 days of purchase. See the Rocket Lawyer review.31, 32, 33

InCorp Services

InCorp lists $129/year and calls it a $129 per year flat rate, while its terms bill at the 'then current' fee. Documents and filings sit in its Entity Management System (EMS), included free. To leave, you must meet one of its cancellation conditions before the annual fee falls due: dissolve entity, appoint new agent, or resign InCorp with fees. Refunds must be requested within 60 days of issuance of services. The InCorp review explains its formation pricing.34, 35, 36

Harbor Compliance

Harbor Compliance charges $99 first year (new customers), then $159 annually. Documents arrive in its Client Portal and Entity Manager. The service renews for a further term unless you give notice at least 90 days before the end of the current term, a date worth putting in a calendar the day you sign up. Its terms add that "all Fees paid for the Services are non-refundable." Read the Harbor Compliance review.37, 38

Which best-for lists apply to a Missouri LLC?

The privacy and compliance lists have a direct Missouri angle, because of the office rule and because of the missing annual report.

The office rule means every agent's address goes on file as your registered office. If you also want an address to print on invoices or a website, look at providers that sell one separately.

The privacy list explains what still appears on public filings.

Compliance features are weaker value here. The compliance list ranks providers by annual report filing and reminders, which a Missouri-only LLC doesn't need for the state. Founders outside the U.S. can check the non-resident list.

What does a registered agent cost a Missouri LLC in year one and after?

Year one is the Articles filing fee, $50 online or $105 on paper, plus the agent's first-year price. From year two, with no annual report fee ($0), the agent renewal is the main recurring cost.3, 44

The gap between first-year and later prices takes several forms across these providers.

If you expect to run the LLC for several years, the renewal column tells you more than the first-year price. A lapse is costly in a different way: going without an agent is grounds for administrative cancellation of the LLC, and reinstatement costs $100 plus any delinquent fees and penalties. If an agent resigns, the resignation is effective 30 days after receipt, or earlier if a new agent is appointed.2, 45

Missouri registered agent services: common questions

Can I be my own registered agent in Missouri?

The statute names an individual resident of Missouri or a domestic or foreign corporation authorized to do business in Missouri as eligible agents, with a business office matching the registered office. An owner who lives in Missouri fits the first group. Whether a particular business entity qualifies is a question the Missouri registered agent guide walks through, and the Secretary of State can confirm.2

How much does it cost to switch registered agent services in Missouri?

The state charges $10 for the Statement of Change of Registered Agent or Registered Office (Corp. 59). Provider terms can add cost, such as Harbor Compliance's rule that notice come at least 90 days before the end of the current term or InCorp's refund window within 60 days of issuance of services. Bizee and Swyft Filings both tie cancellation to a new agent being on record, so the state filing comes first.4, 5, 36, 38

Do I need annual report reminders from my Missouri agent?

Not for Missouri itself. Missouri LLCs do not have to file annual reports with the Secretary of State, so there's no report and no report fee ($0). Reminder and filing features only help if the LLC also registers in a state with a report, or for other deadlines you track yourself.3

What happens if my registered agent resigns in Missouri?

The agent files a statement with the Secretary of State, and the resignation is effective 30 days after receipt, or earlier if a new agent is appointed. Naming a new agent before that date keeps the LLC covered. Going without an agent is grounds for administrative cancellation of the LLC. How to cancel a registered agent explains the order of steps from the owner's side.2, 45

Can I put my agent's address on my website?

It depends on the provider. Tailor Brands' terms say: "You must not designate or otherwise refer to the Registered Address as your business location in any public materials." The agent's address is your Missouri registered office for legal service; for a public-facing address, providers such as Bizee and Swyft Filings sell one separately. Ask the Secretary of State which of your filing fields such an address may fill.7

Why is the list in this order?

It follows our score, highest first, with ties in editorial order. The score comes only from published, cited facts, and the largest share is each provider's Trustpilot rating; the details are on how we score. Trustpilot reviews cover each company overall, not its Missouri service, so the prices and terms above are what to compare for your LLC.
