Best registered agent services in New Hampshire

Facts checked October 13 to 15, 2026.

All 10 services compared here sell registered agent service, and most say they cover every state. New Hampshire's statute, N.H. Rev. Stat. Ann. § 304-C:36, lets a resident individual or a business organized or authorized in the state act as agent, and the agent's office becomes the LLC's registered office, so a commercial service needs a New Hampshire office. What sets this state apart from a no-report state is the yearly filing: every LLC owes an annual report between January 1 and April 1, starting the year after formation, at $100. That makes two numbers worth comparing side by side, the agent's renewal price and what the provider charges, if anything, to file that report for you.1, 2, 3

How is this list ordered, and what did we compare?

Providers are listed by our score, highest first, with tied scores in our editorial order, and each was compared on the same published facts about price, renewal, mail handling, exit terms and report filing.

Our score uses only published facts that we cite: the Trustpilot rating, breadth of services and dashboard, and value and cost. It is explained, with each provider's breakdown, on how we score. We don't buy or test the services. Trustpilot ratings appear next to our score as their own third-party figure and are never adjusted.

We don't test services. Trustpilot ratings are third-party, cited to Trustpilot, and not adjusted.

For New Hampshire we also looked at each provider's annual report offer, because a recurring state filing changes the value of compliance features here. Prices come from each provider's own pages or terms, or are marked as supplied by the provider. Where a provider doesn't publish something, the paragraph says so. For the basics of what an agent does, see what a registered agent does.

How do New Hampshire's rules shape the choice of agent?

They decide who can qualify, what the agent's address becomes, and how much a slow exit can cost. The annual report then makes compliance add-ons worth pricing, which is less true in states without one.

Who can qualify. Under N.H. Rev. Stat. Ann. § 304-C:36, the first kind of agent the statute names is "An individual who resides in this state" whose home or business office is the registered office. Businesses can also act, including an LLC formed or authorized under RSA 304-C. A national provider qualifies through a New Hampshire office of its own. The full rules on who may serve, and on being your own agent, are in the New Hampshire registered agent guide.1

The agent's office is the registered office. New Hampshire ties the two together: the LLC's registered office must be the agent's office, and the statute says it may be the same as any of its places of business. So when you hire a service, its address fills that slot on the public record. That is true of every commercial agent. Providers differ only in whether they sell a second address you can use elsewhere, and in what their terms let you do with the agent's address.1

Exits have a state deadline. Swapping agents costs $15 on Form 10 Statement of Change of Registered Office or Registered Agent or Both. The state also treats an LLC as open to administrative dissolution if it is without a registered agent or office for 60 days or more, or if it fails to report an agent/office change within 60 days. A provider that won't release you until a replacement is on file keeps that gap from opening; a provider with a long notice period can still bill you for a term you no longer want.3, 4, 5

The report is the yearly fixed cost. The Annual Report (due April 1 each year after the year of registration) carries the same $100 fee whoever files it. A late filing adds a $50 late fee after April 1, and the state lists administrative dissolution after two consecutive years of non-filing. A provider's report service saves you the paperwork and the reminder burden; it never lowers the state's fee. Staying compliant in New Hampshire covers the report itself.3, 6

How do the registered agent services compare in New Hampshire?

Each provider below follows the order of the table above. For each one we give the agent price, renewal, mail handling, exit and refund terms, then what it charges to handle the New Hampshire annual report.

Tailor Brands

Tailor Brands lists its agent at $199/year, renewing at $199/year (renews at the same price); both figures were supplied by the provider. It says it covers all 50 states, with documents scanned and uploaded to the business dashboard. Its terms say the agent's address cannot be used as the business location in public materials, so a website or letterhead needs a different address. It sells a separate Virtual Address product, price not published. Billing runs with auto-renewal on by default for subscription services. Fees are non-refundable to the maximum extent permitted by law, and any refund it does issue is reduced by a $29 service fee. For the report, its Essential plan ($199/yr plus state fees) includes annual compliance (report filing and updates), while the Lite plan has no annual compliance. In New Hampshire that difference decides who files the yearly report. Details are in the Tailor Brands review.7, 8, 9, 10, 11

ZenBusiness

ZenBusiness charges $199/year, renewing at $199/yr, and offers 50% off the first year ($99) when you form an LLC. It runs a secure online dashboard with email notifications, and its terms say scanned copies go out, with originals forwarded only if they can't be copied. The service renews automatically; to stop it you cancel by contacting customer support by phone, and a refund is possible only if the service has not yet been used. It prices annual report filing two ways: Annual Report Filing $100 per report, or Worry-Free Compliance $199/year as a subscription. See the ZenBusiness review.12, 13, 14

LegalZoom

LegalZoom's agent is $249/year (first-time registered agent customers), and it auto-renews at the purchase rate each year until you cancel. The renewal rate is subject to change. It offers legal documents scanned and uploaded and email reminders about annual report deadlines. Its terms also restrict the agent's address: "You may not list the Registered Address in your company's public media." You can cancel by phone or online via My Account, though proof of new RA may be required, so have the Form 10 Statement of Change of Registered Office or Registered Agent or Both filed first. For the report, it sells a compliance subscription (starts at $199/year, auto-renews) or a single filing ($99 + state filing fees, bills once). More in the LegalZoom review.15, 16, 17, 18

Bizee

Bizee lists $149/year with renewal at $149/year (ongoing annual fee), and gives a free first year with any Bizee formation package. Its page describes service of process mailed via FedEx with tracking. It advertises free lifetime compliance notifications. Bizee says it files annual reports for customers, with no standalone price stated, so get a quote before counting on it for New Hampshire. Its services may automatically renew. To leave, its terms describe assigning a new registered agent with the state and notifying Bizee of the change; in New Hampshire, that new appointment goes on Form 10 Statement of Change of Registered Office or Registered Agent or Both. Orders are generally refundable until payment is forwarded to a government entity. See the Bizee review.4, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23

Swyft Filings

Swyft Filings prices its agent at $149 per quarter ($596/year). Its page gives this timing for lawsuit papers: legal SOP typically within 2-3 hours. Its FAQ says the service renews annually with reminders before renewal, which sits oddly with quarterly billing, so check the schedule at checkout. Its help page says a replacement agent must be designated (or business dissolved) before cancellation. Refunds are judged case by case, with no published time window. Its report service is ComplianceGuard $199/year, and each of its LLC plans includes a trial on these terms: 14-day free trial then auto-charged. New Hampshire has a report to file every year, so that subscription would have work to do; whether to keep it is a decision to make before the trial converts. See the Swyft Filings review.24, 25, 26, 27, 28

doola

doola lists $297 per year, the same figure as its Starter formation plan, and its agent page notes: RA free with Formation Service. It offers same-day scans; physical forwarding is not included in base RA subscription unless stated in plan. Its agent service includes annual report notifications, but Starter does not include ongoing compliance filings, so the New Hampshire report is yours to file on that plan. Its refund term covers filings: a refund may be possible if application cancelled before it is sent to the state. doola doesn't state its state coverage on the pages we checked. See the doola review.29, 30, 31

Northwest Registered Agent

Northwest charges $125 per year and lists all 50 states plus D.C. and Puerto Rico. Its corporation page describes one year of registered agent service included with formation ($39 + state fees); its LLC page doesn't repeat that. It mentions normal business mail scanned up to 5 docs per year free. One term affects New Hampshire owners directly. Its terms describe RA customers auto-enrolled in Compliance Services billed in annual auto-pay, and its annual report service is $100 + state fees, charged at filing. So unless you cancel that enrollment, Northwest files the report and bills you for it on top of the state's $100. Under its terms you can cancel anytime through the online account, with no cancellation fee, and purchases are non-refundable after 90 days. See the Northwest review.32, 33, 34, 35, 36, 37

Rocket Lawyer

Rocket Lawyer's agent costs $125 with a Plus or Pro membership, and that membership is billed separately: Plus at $249/year, Pro at $349/year. The yearly total is the membership and the agent together. Documents are scanned and uploaded to email and account. Service runs in successive 1-year terms; you can cancel any time by phone, before renewal date, and refund requests must come within 30 days of purchase. Report filing is $100 with Pro membership, excluding state fees, so on a Plus membership a New Hampshire owner files the report alone. Read the Rocket Lawyer review.38, 39, 40, 41

InCorp Services

InCorp charges $129/year and calls it a $129 per year flat rate, while its terms say service is billed at then-current fee unless a cancellation condition is met. It lists legal documents scanned and delivered same day and email reminders before deadlines. Its report filing service is $89 + state fees, the lowest per-filing price among providers that publish one here. To end the service, one of these must happen before the yearly fee falls due: dissolve entity, appoint new agent, or resign InCorp with fees. Refund requests must come within 60 days of issuance of services. Read the InCorp review.42, 43, 44, 45

Harbor Compliance

Harbor Compliance charges $99 first year (new customers) and renews at $159 annually. It advertises same-day document scanning, and its agent service comes with annual report filing reminders. Its managed report service is $199 per state per year plus filing fees. Its terms renew the agent unless you give notice at least 90 days before the end of the current term, so leaving Harbor takes planning months ahead of the renewal date. Its terms add: no refunds; fees non-refundable. More in the Harbor Compliance review.46, 47, 48

What does a registered agent cost in New Hampshire in year one and later?

Year one is the $100 filing fee plus the agent's first-year price. From the following calendar year, the $100 report fee joins the agent's renewal, and a report service adds its own charge.3

The state also adds a $2.00 handling charge on online filings, on top of the filing fee. Formation month shifts the first report: under the statute, an LLC formed in December files its first report in the second calendar year after formation, so a December LLC owes no report fee in the calendar year that follows.2, 3

The renewal column decides most of the long-run cost. A few patterns stand out among the published terms.

To price the report too, add the state's $100 each year and, if you use one, the provider's report fee from the paragraphs above. The full formation arithmetic is on the cheapest ways to form a New Hampshire LLC, and package contents are compared on New Hampshire LLC formation services. Providers that publish report filing are grouped on agents with compliance tools, and agent-only prices nationwide are on cheapest registered agent services.

New Hampshire registered agent services: common questions

Does my registered agent file the New Hampshire annual report?

Only if you buy that service. Some providers include it in a plan, such as Tailor Brands' Essential plan, which lists annual compliance (report filing and updates); others sell it per filing, like InCorp at $89 + state fees. Northwest is the exception to watch, because its terms describe RA customers auto-enrolled in Compliance Services billed in annual auto-pay. Either way the state's $100 fee is charged as well.3, 11, 35, 45

How much does it cost to switch registered agents in New Hampshire?

The state charges $15 for Form 10 Statement of Change of Registered Office or Registered Agent or Both. The larger cost tends to come from the old provider's terms: Harbor Compliance asks for notice at least 90 days before the end of the current term, and Tailor Brands keeps a $29 service fee from any refund. The guide to changing a registered agent sets out the order of steps.3, 4, 10, 48

What happens if my agent resigns or I stop paying?

If an agent resigns, the SOS mails a copy to the LLC's principal office, and the appointment ends 31 days after filing or on appointment of a successor, whichever is first. Going without a registered agent or office for 60 days or more is grounds for administrative dissolution. Most services here renew automatically, so stopping payment usually means a cancellation process first. Read how to cancel a registered agent before you let a service lapse.1, 5

Can I use my registered agent's address as my business address in New Hampshire?

It depends on the provider's terms, and some forbid it. Tailor Brands' terms say the agent address cannot be used as the business location in public materials, and LegalZoom's say "You may not list the Registered Address in your company's public media." The agent's address fills the registered office on the public record for every provider; a separate business address is a different product. What stays public is covered in what a registered agent can and can't keep off the record.9, 15

Is the cheapest agent price the cheapest choice in New Hampshire?

Not always, because the report adds a yearly cost that some providers bundle and others bill separately. Compare the agent renewal plus any report fee you would pay, not the first-year price alone. Owners who file the report themselves can compare agent renewals only.

How is the list on this page ordered?

By our score, highest first, with ties in editorial order. The largest share of the score comes from each provider's Trustpilot rating, which reflects the whole company rather than its New Hampshire service, and the rest from published facts on services and cost. The method is on how we score, and any two providers can be set side by side on our comparison page.
