Cheapest LLC formation in New Hampshire
Facts checked October 13 to 15, 2026.
The lowest first-year bill is the state's $100 certificate fee, plus a $2.00 handling charge if you file online, with the registered agent covered at no extra charge. The agent can cost nothing in year one through a resident serving as the LLC's own agent (N.H. Rev. Stat. Ann. § 304-C:36), or a formation package listed at $0 + state fee that bundles the agent (free first year with any Bizee formation package). From the following calendar year the floor rises, because every New Hampshire LLC files an annual report costing $100, between January 1 and April 1. With a paid agent on top, such as Bizee's renewal at $149/year (ongoing annual fee), a "free" formation turns into the state fee now and a report fee plus an agent renewal every year after.1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6
What does New Hampshire charge to form and keep an LLC?
The state sets these fees, and no provider can discount them. Provider prices are quoted on top of them.
| Filing | Fee |
|---|---|
| Form the LLC | $100 gc.nh.gov |
| Reserve a name | $15 for 120 days gc.nh.gov |
| Expedited processing | $25, in person at the Customer Lobby only sos.nh.gov |
| Change of registered agent | $15 gc.nh.gov |
| Recurring report | $100 gc.nh.gov |
| Reinstatement after dissolution | $135; application must be filed within 3 years of dissolution, with a tax certificate if more than 120 days after the dissolution notice gc.nh.gov |
| Register an out-of-state LLC | $100 (Form FLLC-1) gc.nh.gov |
Forming a new LLC means one fee, $100, for the Certificate of Formation (Form LLC-1). You pay it whether you file yourself or a service files for you. Paying online adds a $2.00 handling charge.7
The yearly fixed cost is the annual report, $100, due between January 1 and April 1 starting the year after formation. The timing has a quirk: an LLC formed in December files its first report in the second calendar year after formation, so a December formation gets a longer gap before its first report bill.5
Some optional fees can come up. A name reservation costs $15 for 120 days, which is only useful if you can't file yet. And changing your registered agent later costs $15 on Form 10.1, 8
An LLC formed in another state skips the certificate and pays the foreign registration fee instead, $100 (Form FLLC-1). Owners comparing nearby states can check the Maine or Vermont requirements first.1
What raises the cost of a New Hampshire LLC?
The agent's renewal, report-filing services, faster processing, package add-ons and penalties for a missed report all lift the bill above the state fees. Each can be planned before you file.
The registered agent after year one
A free or discounted first agent year ends, and the renewal is what you pay from then on. Prices run from $125 per year at Northwest to $149 per quarter ($596/year) at Swyft Filings, which bills by the quarter. A resident who qualifies as "An individual who resides in this state" with an office at the registered office can avoid the fee by acting as agent; the trade-off is that their office goes on the public record. Who may serve is in the New Hampshire registered agent guide.2, 9, 10
Report-filing services
Filing the report yourself costs only the state's $100. Report services add their own charge each year, from $89 + state fees at InCorp up to $199 per state per year plus filing fees at Harbor Compliance. Some come bundled in plans; others start on their own unless you stop them, as with Swyft's formation packages, which begin a trial of ComplianceGuard $199/year on these terms: 14-day free trial then auto-charged. Northwest's terms describe RA customers auto-enrolled in Compliance Services billed in annual auto-pay. Decide before the first report window whether you want that service.1, 11, 12, 13, 14
Faster processing
Online filings generally take no more than 10 business days at no extra charge. The state's expedite costs $25 and is available in person at the Customer Lobby only, so it means a visit in person, not a checkbox online. A provider's rush fee pays for its own speed, not the state's.15
Add-ons at checkout
The EIN, an operating agreement, a business address and compliance subscriptions are sold separately or folded into pricier packages. The IRS issues the EIN directly to owners who apply themselves. Each add-on is a separate choice from the filing.
Missed reports and lapses
A late report adds a $50 late fee after April 1, and the state lists administrative dissolution after two consecutive years of non-filing. An LLC left without a registered agent or office for 60 days or more can also be dissolved. Reinstatement costs $135 and must be applied for within 3 years of dissolution. The New Hampshire compliance page explains the deadlines, and the Business Profits Tax and other taxes are covered there rather than here.1, 16, 17

Below, in the same order, is what each cheapest option adds to the state fee in year one and what keeps recurring, including the report.
Tailor Brands. Lite is $0 plus state fees and doesn't list an agent, so add $199/year or act as your own. Essential, a yearly charge at $199/yr plus state fees, adds annual compliance (report filing and updates). See the Tailor Brands review.18, 19
ZenBusiness. Starter is $0 + state fees (does not renew). The agent is an add-on +$199/yr, with 50% off the first year ($99) when you form an LLC, then $199/yr. Starter also includes Worry-Free Compliance free for 1 year (then $199/yr). Whether that free year reaches the first New Hampshire report depends on the formation month, and after it the service bills yearly unless cancelled. The per-filing alternative is listed as Annual Report Filing $100 per report. See the ZenBusiness review.20, 21, 22
LegalZoom. Its lowest package is $0 + state filing fees. The agent costs $249/year (first-time registered agent customers) and auto-renews at the purchase rate each year until you cancel. A single report filing is $99 + state filing fees, bills once. See the LegalZoom review.23, 24, 25
Bizee. Basic is $0 + state fee with the agent's first year included, then $149/year (ongoing annual fee). That makes year one the state fee alone, and later years the report fee plus the agent renewal. Bizee's report service has no standalone price stated. See the Bizee review.3, 6, 26
Swyft Filings. Basic is $0 + state fees, with no agent listed. The agent is $149 per quarter ($596/year), so compare the yearly figure. Its packages also start a trial of ComplianceGuard $199/year, so an owner who files the report alone would need to cancel during the trial. See the Swyft Filings review.10, 13, 27
doola. Starter is $297/yr and includes the agent, but the plan price itself recurs each year. Starter does not include ongoing compliance filings, so the New Hampshire report stays with you. See the doola review.28, 29
Northwest Registered Agent. Formation is $39 + State Fees, which its corporation page calls a total that includes one year of registered agent service; confirm that holds for an LLC. The agent alone is $125 per year, and report filing is $100 + state fees, charged at filing, which agent customers are enrolled in by default. See the Northwest review.9, 30, 31, 32
Rocket Lawyer. Formation is tied to a yearly membership (First registration free with a Rocket Lawyer membership). Standard costs $149/year, Plus $249/year and Pro $349/year. The agent ($125 with a Plus or Pro membership) needs Plus or Pro, and report filing is $100 with Pro membership, excluding state fees. See the Rocket Lawyer review.33, 34, 35, 36
InCorp Services. Formation is priced starting at $99 plus state fees, with the agent sold separately at $129 per state per year. It describes the renewal as a $129 per year flat rate, though its terms say service is billed at then-current fee unless a cancellation condition is met. Its report filing is $89 + state fees. See the InCorp review.11, 37, 38, 39, 40
Harbor Compliance. Formation starts at $99 plus state fees. The agent is $99 first year (new customers), renewing at $159 annually, and stopping that renewal takes notice at least 90 days before the end of the current term. See the Harbor Compliance review.41, 42, 43

New Hampshire LLC cost questions
Can I form a New Hampshire LLC for just the state fee?
Yes, in the first year. You can serve as your own agent if you qualify, or use a package listed at $0 + state fee that includes the agent's first year, and file online for $100 plus a $2.00 handling charge. Later years can't stay that low, because the annual report costs $100.1, 3
What does a New Hampshire LLC cost each year after formation?
At least the $100 annual report fee, filed between January 1 and April 1. Add a paid agent's renewal if you use one, and a provider's report-filing charge if you buy that service. Taxes such as the Business Profits Tax are separate.1, 5, 17
Is paying to expedite a New Hampshire filing worth it?
Only if you can get to the Customer Lobby and need the LLC quickly. The state's expedite is $25 and offered in person at the Customer Lobby only. Online filings generally take no more than 10 business days with no extra fee.15
Should I pay a provider to file the annual report?
That depends on whether you want to track the deadline and file each year yourself. The state charges $100 either way, and a late report adds a $50 late fee after April 1. Provider fees range from $89 + state fees at InCorp to $199 per state per year plus filing fees at Harbor Compliance, and how annual reports work explains what the filing involves.1, 11, 12
Does it cost anything to switch agents after the free first year?
Yes, $15 for Form 10. That can still save money when the new agent's yearly price is lower than your renewal. File the change before cancelling the old service, as explained in how to change a registered agent.1, 8
