Best registered agent services in Idaho

Facts checked October 13 to 15, 2026.

All 10 services on this page sell registered agent service, and most of them say on their own pages that they cover every state; LegalZoom and doola don't publish their state coverage, so confirm Idaho with them. Idaho's law (Idaho Code § 30-21-404 and § 30-21-403) requires a street address in this state wherever a registered agent filing must give an address. Two Idaho rules also shape the choice. Switching agents costs $0 online, so leaving a provider is cheap at the state's end. And every Idaho LLC files an Annual Report each year by the last day of the month in which the LLC was formed, which repeats the registered agent information, so a provider's report reminders or filing service has real work to do here.1, 2, 3, 4

How is this list ordered, and what did we compare?

Providers are listed by our score, highest first, and each one was compared on the same published facts: agent price, renewal, document delivery, annual report help, cancellation and refunds.

When two scores tie, the order between them is editorial and says nothing about which is better. Our score comes only from cited facts in three parts: customer satisfaction, breadth of service and dashboard, and value and cost. How we score shows the weights and each provider's breakdown. We compare published terms and don't test services. The Trustpilot rating beside each score is a separate third-party number, quoted from Trustpilot without changes.

"Score" is our editorial score out of 10, built from published facts: half from the Trustpilot rating, the rest from breadth of services, dashboard and mail scanning, and package value and two-year cost (how we score; scores approved 2026-10-14). We don't test services. Trustpilot ratings are third-party, cited to Trustpilot, and not adjusted.

Every provider fact on this page comes from the provider's own site or terms, or is marked as supplied by the provider, and appears in the Sources list. Where a provider is silent on something, the paragraph says it doesn't publish it. If you want the background on what any agent does for an LLC, read what a registered agent does first; this page is narrower and covers only choosing a commercial service for an Idaho company.

What do Idaho's rules mean for the service you pick?

Idaho requires any agent address on a filing to be an in-state street address, repeats the agent details in each year's report, and charges nothing to switch online, so reminders and exit terms are worth comparing alongside price.

An Idaho street address. The statute behind the agent filing (Idaho Code § 30-21-404 and § 30-21-403) requires a street address in this state for any address the filing must state. A commercial agent doesn't change the LLC's principal office or mailing address. The full rules on who may act and what address qualifies are on the Idaho registered agent guide.1

How the agent's name goes on the form. Idaho's statute separates a commercial registered agent from a noncommercial registered agent. For a commercial agent, the filing states the agent's name; for a noncommercial agent, such as an owner acting for the LLC, it states a name and an address. Before you file, ask the provider exactly how it wants its name entered on the Idaho form, so the filing matches its records.1

The annual report repeats your agent details. Each Idaho LLC sends the Idaho Secretary of State an Annual Report by the last day of the month in which the LLC was formed, and the report asks for Entity name and jurisdiction, registered agent information, principal office street and mailing addresses, and the name of at least one governor. We found no published late fee; instead, a missed report is grounds for administrative dissolution. So the reminder and filing features below are worth comparing, and if you change agents partway through the year, the next report should show the new agent rather than the one you left. What the report involves beyond the agent fields is on staying compliant in Idaho.3, 4, 5

Leaving a provider costs little at the state. Switching means filing the Statement of Change of Registered Office or Registered Agent, or Both ($0 online; $20 paper). With a state fee that low, the real exit cost sits in each provider's terms: notice periods, closed refund windows and renewal dates. The order of steps is in how to change a registered agent.6

How do registered agent services compare for an Idaho LLC?

The providers below follow the order of the table above. Each section uses only what that provider publishes, and the last sentence or two of each says how its terms play out against Idaho's rules.

Tailor Brands

Tailor Brands prices agent service at $199/year, renewing at $199/year (renews at the same price); the provider supplied both figures. Coverage is listed as All 50 states, and new papers appear on an LLC dashboard with new-document notifications. On annual reports, its agent page says the agent can file the annual report if instructed, and report filing in its formation plans is included in Essential and Elite. One limit to read before signing up is this line from its terms: Agent address cannot be used as the business location in public materials. Tailor Brands also sells a separate Virtual Address product (price not published). Subscriptions run with auto-renewal on by default. You cancel by notifying Tailor Brands and completing the required steps. Fees are non-refundable to the maximum extent permitted by law, and there is a $29 service fee deducted from any refund issued. See the Tailor Brands review.7, 8, 9, 10, 11

ZenBusiness

ZenBusiness lists $199/year and a renewal of $199/yr. For new formations it offers 50% off the first year ($99) when you form an LLC. Its agent page lists state compliance notices and annual report reminders among what the agent passes on, and its price list shows Annual Report Filing $100 per report if you'd rather have a report filed for you. Its terms send scanned copies, with originals forwarded only if they can't be copied. Cancellation happens by contacting customer support by phone. A refund is possible only if the service has not yet been used. Our ZenBusiness review has the rest.12, 13, 14

LegalZoom

LegalZoom charges $249/year (first-time registered agent customers). Renewal is at the purchase rate, which LegalZoom marks as rate subject to change. Email reminders about annual report deadlines via Compliance Calendar come with the agent, and LegalZoom sells a one-time report filing at $99 + state filing fees. You can cancel by phone or online via My Account, and proof of new RA may be required, which in Idaho means the free online change should be filed first. Its agent terms say prepaid fees are refunded only when LegalZoom terminates the service. LegalZoom doesn't publish its state coverage on the pages we checked. See the LegalZoom review.15, 16, 17

Bizee

Bizee sells agent service at $149/year with renewal described as $149/year (ongoing annual fee). Forming with Bizee adds a free first year with any Bizee formation package. Service of process, the formal delivery of a lawsuit, is mailed via FedEx with tracking. It offers free lifetime compliance notifications, and it sells annual report filing, with no standalone price stated. To cancel, its terms describe assigning a new registered agent with the state and notifying Bizee; for an Idaho LLC that starts with the online change statement. Bizee's general terms say orders are generally refundable until payment is forwarded to a government entity; we found no refund terms specific to the agent. Read the Bizee review.18, 19, 20, 21, 22

Swyft Filings

Swyft Filings prices the agent at $149 per quarter, which comes to $596/year, the highest yearly agent price on this page. Its FAQ also says the service renews annually with reminders before renewal, so confirm the billing cycle at checkout. Documents land in an online dashboard, with legal SOP typically within 2-3 hours. Annual report filing is sold as ComplianceGuard $199/year. Its help page says a replacement agent must be designated (or business dissolved) before cancellation; in Idaho, filing that replacement online costs the state nothing. Refunds are case by case, with no published time window. See the Swyft Filings review.23, 24, 25, 26, 27

doola

doola lists $297 per year on its agent page, which matches its Starter plan at $297/yr, and doola describes the agent as RA free with Formation Service. It doesn't say whether that figure buys the agent alone. Legal mail gets same-day scans, and physical forwarding is not included in base RA subscription. The agent includes annual report notifications, but doola's pricing grid says Starter does not include ongoing compliance filings. Its terms say recurring fees auto-renew. To cancel, doola lists this route: Delete account any time. A refund is possible if the application is cancelled before it is sent to the state. doola doesn't publish its state coverage on the pages we checked. More in the doola review.28, 29, 30, 31

Northwest Registered Agent

Northwest charges $125 per year and lists All 50 states plus D.C. and Puerto Rico. Legal papers are scanned to your account, and its page lists normal business mail scanned up to 5 docs per year free. Its auto-pay page notes RA customers auto-enrolled in Compliance Services, and its annual report service is $100 + state fees, charged at filing, so an Idaho LLC using Northwest may see a charge when its report is filed; ask how to opt out if you'd rather send the report to the state yourself. The page does not say RA itself auto-renews, so ask about the agent's own renewal. You can cancel online with no cancellation fee. Purchases are non-refundable after 90 days. See the Northwest review.32, 33, 34, 35, 36

Rocket Lawyer

Rocket Lawyer lists its agent at $125 with a Plus or Pro membership. Its Standard membership shows registered agent not included, so the agent needs Plus at $249/year or Pro at $349/year, charged on top. Documents are scanned and uploaded to email and account. Pro adds report filing at $100 with Pro membership. The agent renews in successive 1-year terms; you can cancel by phone before renewal date, and refund requests must come within 30 days of purchase. Read the Rocket Lawyer review.37, 38, 39, 40

InCorp Services

InCorp charges $129/year and calls it a $129 per year flat rate, though its terms bill renewals at the then-current fee. Legal documents are scanned and delivered same day and held in its Entity Management System (EMS), included free. Its agent page lists reminders (Email reminders before deadlines), and it sells annual report filing at $89 + state fees. To stop paying, one of these conditions must be met before the yearly fee falls due: dissolve entity, appoint new agent, or resign InCorp with fees. In Idaho, appointing a new agent carries a state fee of $0 online. Refunds must be requested within 60 days of issuance of services, and its terms add: discounted services nonrefundable. See the InCorp review.2, 41, 42, 43, 44

Harbor Compliance

Harbor Compliance charges $99 first year (new customers) and then $159 annually. It lists same-day document scanning, with deliveries in its Client Portal and Entity Manager, and annual report filing reminders with the agent. It also sells a managed report service at $199 per state per year plus filing fees. Its terms renew the agent unless you give notice at least 90 days before the end of the current term, and state that all Fees paid for the Services are non-refundable. In a state where the change form is free online, that notice date is the main cost of leaving, so put it in your calendar. More in the Harbor Compliance review.45, 46, 47

What does a registered agent cost an Idaho LLC in year one and later?

In year one you pay the state's formation fee, $100 online, $120 by paper, plus the agent's first-year price; after that the agent's renewal is the main recurring charge, alongside any report filing service you buy.48

The Secretary of State's fee for the annual report isn't among the facts we've verified, so check the amount in SOSBiz when you file. Changing agents later costs $0 online, $20 by paper.2

Idaho registered agent services: common questions

Does it cost anything to switch registered agents in Idaho?

The state charges $0 online for the statement of change and $20 by paper. What can cost money is the old provider's terms: Harbor Compliance wants notice at least 90 days before the end of the current term, and Swyft Filings says a replacement agent must be designated (or business dissolved) before cancellation. File the change first, then cancel. The Idaho registered agent guide covers the order of steps.2, 26, 47

Do I need a service that files the Idaho annual report?

No, you can file it yourself in SOSBiz. The report is due by the last day of the month in which the LLC was formed, and a missed one is grounds for administrative dissolution. Reminders come with several agent services, and filing is sold separately by most, for example LegalZoom at $99 + state filing fees. Agents with compliance tools lists the providers that file it for you.4, 5, 16

What happens if my Idaho registered agent resigns?

A resignation takes effect at 12:01 a.m. on the 31st day after filing, or earlier when a new agent is designated, and the agent must promptly notify the entity. If the LLC then goes 60 consecutive days without an agent, the Secretary of State can start administrative dissolution. Naming a new agent costs $0 online, so replacing one quickly is easy. How to cancel a registered agent explains the steps from the other side.2, 5, 49

Can I list my registered agent's address as my Idaho business address?

That depends on the provider's terms, and some forbid it. Tailor Brands' terms say: "You must not designate or otherwise refer to the Registered Address as your business location in any public materials." Naming a commercial agent leaves the principal office and mailing addresses to you. Some providers sell a separate business address; Bizee's virtual address is $29/month; 1 month free with Bizee LLC formation. What a registered agent can and can't keep off the record explains which details stay public.10, 50

Can I be my own registered agent in Idaho?

Yes. The statute allows a noncommercial registered agent, such as an owner, whose name and address go on the filing, and the address must be a street address in this state. You then need to be there to accept legal papers delivered for the LLC. The Idaho registered agent guide sets out who may act and the trade-offs.1

How is the list on this page ordered?

By our score, highest first, with ties in editorial order. The score uses only published, cited facts, and the largest share comes from each provider's Trustpilot rating, which reflects reviews of the whole company rather than its Idaho service. How we score shows each breakdown. Founders forming their first company can also look at agents for first-time founders.
