Best registered agent services in Utah
Facts checked October 13 to 15, 2026.
All 10 providers compared here sell registered agent service, and most of them say they cover every state. Utah's new registered agent chapter, Utah Code § 16-1a-403, took effect on 10/1/2026 and asks for a street address in this state wherever an agent's address is required, so the service needs a Utah street address. Beyond the entry price, the services differ in what happens each year: the LLC owes an Annual Report/Renewal on its own anniversary, so compare each provider's renewal price, reminders and report-filing terms.1, 2
How is this list ordered, and what was compared?
Providers are listed by our score, highest first, with ties in editorial order; for each one we lined up the same published facts on agent price, renewal, document delivery, annual renewal help, cancellation and refunds.

"Score" is our editorial score out of 10, built from published facts: half from the Trustpilot rating, the rest from breadth of services, dashboard and mail scanning, and package value and two-year cost (how we score; scores approved 2026-10-14). We don't test services. Trustpilot ratings are third-party, cited to Trustpilot, and not adjusted.
Our score uses only published, cited facts, weighted toward customer satisfaction and then breadth of service, dashboard and cost. Every input and each provider's breakdown is on how we score. We don't buy or test the services. The Trustpilot column is a third-party number, cited to Trustpilot and left as published.
The provider facts below come from each company's own pages or terms, or are marked as supplied by the provider. Where a company is silent on something, the paragraph says it doesn't publish that fact. For what any agent is there to do, read what a registered agent does; this page sticks to picking a commercial one for a Utah LLC.
Which Utah rules change how you compare agents?
Three Utah rules shape the comparison: the Utah street address, the yearly renewal tied to your formation date, and an agent change that costs little and can be done online.
A Utah street address, and a commercial or noncommercial agent. Under Utah Code § 16-1a-403, a filing that needs the agent's address must show a street address in this state. The same chapter lets the LLC's filing name either its commercial registered agent or the name and address of the represented entity's noncommercial registered agent. The national services on this page act as commercial agents. Hiring one puts the provider's address in the agent field and leaves the other addresses on your filing unchanged; every agent works that way, so it isn't a feature one company has over another. Who may serve and how to act as your own agent are covered in the Utah registered agent guide.1
A renewal that follows your own calendar. Utah's renewal is due one year from the date of registration and due annually thereafter, for $18, and it must list at least one manager, member or other governing person. Because the date is the LLC's anniversary rather than one statewide deadline, a reminder from your agent does real work here. The Division adds a $10 late renewal fee when the renewal comes in late. What the renewal asks for and how to file it are on staying compliant in Utah.3, 4, 5
Changing agents is quick and cheap. The Division of Corporations and Commercial Code (Utah Department of Commerce) charges $17 to change the agent, filed online or on the Limited Liability Company Registration Information Change Form. Since most filings are processed immediately at the Division, you can have the new agent on record before telling the old provider, which is the safe order. With a fee that small, a long notice period or a closed refund window can cost more than the state does. The steps are in how to change a registered agent.4, 6, 7
How do the registered agent services compare for Utah?
The paragraphs follow the table's order. Each covers price and renewal, how papers reach you, what the provider does about Utah's yearly renewal, and how you leave.
Tailor Brands
Tailor Brands prices its agent at $199/year, and both that price and the renewal are supplied by the provider: $199/year (renews at the same price). Papers arrive as documents scanned and uploaded to the business dashboard. For Utah's anniversary renewal, it sends reminders and its agent can file the annual report if instructed; the Essential plan ($199/yr plus state fees) also lists annual compliance (report filing and updates). One limit in its terms is that the agent address cannot be used as the business location in public materials, so a separate address is needed for your website or letterhead. Billing has auto-renewal on by default for subscription services. If a refund is granted, there is a $29 service fee deducted from any refund issued. The Tailor Brands review has the rest.8, 9, 10, 11, 12
ZenBusiness
ZenBusiness lists $199/year, renewing at $199/yr, and it offers 50% off the first year ($99) when you form an LLC. The agent service sends state compliance notices and annual report reminders, which lines up with a Utah renewal date that differs for every LLC. For filing the renewal itself, its Worry-Free Compliance is sold separately at $199/year outside the Pro and Premium plans. Scans go to the dashboard, with originals forwarded only if they can't be copied. Cancelling is done by contacting customer support by phone, and a refund is possible only if the service has not yet been used. More in the ZenBusiness review.13, 14, 15, 16
LegalZoom
LegalZoom's price is $249/year (first-time registered agent customers), and renewal is described this way: Renews at the purchase rate each year; rate subject to change. The agent service sends email reminders about annual report deadlines via Compliance Calendar. LegalZoom sells report filing separately, either as a one-time filing at $99 + state filing fees, bills once or as a Compliance Filings subscription that starts at $199/year, auto-renews. You can cancel by phone or online via My Account, and proof of new RA may be required, so file Utah's change first. Its agent terms say prepaid fees for current term refunded only when LegalZoom terminates the service. LegalZoom's agent page doesn't publish which states it covers. See the LegalZoom review.17, 18, 19, 20
Bizee
Bizee charges $149/year, with renewal at $149/year (ongoing annual fee), and offers a free first year with any Bizee formation package. Lawsuit papers are mailed via FedEx with tracking. It lists free lifetime compliance notifications, and it sells annual report filing with no standalone price stated. Its cancellation route is assigning a new registered agent with the state and notifying Bizee of the change; in Utah that means the change goes to the Division before you write to Bizee. Orders are generally refundable until payment is forwarded to a government entity. The Bizee review covers the packages.21, 22, 23, 24, 25
Swyft Filings
Swyft Filings bills its agent per quarter: $149 per quarter ($596/year). Its pages say served papers show up in the account with legal SOP typically within 2-3 hours. For the yearly Utah renewal it sells ComplianceGuard $199/year, and formation customers start on a 14-day free trial then auto-charged, so mark the trial's end date. Its help page on leaving says a replacement agent must be designated (or business dissolved) before cancellation. Refunds are decided by charge type and order status, with no published time window. More in the Swyft Filings review.26, 27, 28, 29
doola
doola lists its agent at $297 per year, and doola's own wording is "RA free with Formation Service", without saying for how long. It offers same-day scans and annual report notifications. Its pricing grid shows Annual State Report Filing included in the Tax and Compliance and Business-in-a-Box™ plans; Starter does not include ongoing compliance filings, so on Starter you would file Utah's renewal yourself. Its terms mention a refund only if application cancelled before it is sent to the state. The doola review has the plan details.30, 31, 32
Northwest Registered Agent
Northwest's agent costs $125 per year, and a first year comes with formation as stated on the corporation page, while its LLC page doesn't say so. Its auto-pay terms put it this way: RA customers auto-enrolled in Compliance Services billed in annual auto-pay. The report service is $100 + state fees, charged at filing, so an agent customer's Utah renewal may be filed and billed unless you opt out. It lists normal business mail scanned up to 5 docs per year free. You can cancel anytime through the online account; no cancellation fee. Purchases are non-refundable after 90 days. Read the Northwest review.33, 34, 35, 36, 37
Rocket Lawyer
Rocket Lawyer's agent is $125 with a Plus or Pro membership, and that membership is billed on its own: Plus at $249/year, Pro at $349/year. Pro also lists annual report $100 per filing, the one membership where Rocket Lawyer files the report for you. The agent renews for successive 1-year terms. You can cancel any time by phone, before renewal date, and refund requests must come within 30 days of purchase. See the Rocket Lawyer review.38, 39, 40
InCorp Services
InCorp prices the agent at $129/year and calls it a $129 per year flat rate, while its terms say service is billed at then-current fee unless a cancellation condition is met. Legal documents are scanned and delivered same day, and its renewal filing service is $89 + state fees. To stop, one of three conditions has to be met before the yearly fee falls due (dissolve entity, appoint new agent, or resign InCorp with fees). Refund requests must arrive within 60 days of issuance of services. More in the InCorp review.41, 42, 43, 44
Harbor Compliance
Harbor Compliance's price is $99 first year (new customers), renewing at $159 annually. It lists same-day document scanning. Report filing is $199 per state per year plus filing fees. Its terms need non-renewal notice at least 90 days before the end of the current term, so missing that date renews the service for another term, which costs far more than Utah's change fee. Its terms add: No refunds; fees non-refundable. The Harbor Compliance review has more.45, 46, 47
Which best-for lists fit a Utah LLC?
Two of our best-for lists line up with Utah's yearly renewal. Each sorts providers first by published facts, and our score breaks ties.
The compliance list puts first the providers that file the annual report for you inside a plan, then those that sell filing separately, then reminder-only services. Among the providers above, Tailor Brands' Essential plan lists annual compliance (report filing and updates), while Northwest, InCorp and Harbor Compliance sell report filing at the prices quoted above. The first-time founders list counts three supports in a plan: report filing, coaching from a person and AI guidance. A provider's place on either list doesn't change the Utah rules; the renewal is due on your anniversary whoever files it.10
What does a registered agent cost in Utah in year one and later?
Year one is the state's $59 filing fee plus the agent's first-year price. From year two, add the $18 renewal, due on the anniversary of formation, to the agent's renewal price.4, 5

Utah's state charges are small next to most agent prices, so the agent is usually the larger recurring line. A few patterns in the prices above are worth checking before you sign up.
- Harbor Compliance discounts the first year for new customers, and ZenBusiness discounts it only when it also forms the LLC; both then charge their regular renewal.
- Bizee's free first year depends on forming with Bizee.
- Swyft Filings bills quarterly, so compare its yearly total.
- Rocket Lawyer's agent price sits on top of a yearly membership.
- If a report filing service is part of the plan, its price is separate from Utah's own renewal fee.
Missing the renewal adds the $10 late renewal fee, and reinstating a dissolved LLC costs $54, plus $18 for each year the annual renewal was missed and a $10 delinquency fee. Full formation totals are worked out on the cheapest ways to form a Utah LLC and Utah LLC formation services compared. Utah registered agent services: common questions
Does a Utah registered agent need a Utah address?
Yes. Utah's chapter, Utah Code § 16-1a-403, says a filing that must state an address shall give a street address in this state. A national service meets this with its own Utah address, which then appears in the agent field of your filings.1
When is the Utah annual renewal due, and can my agent file it?
Utah's renewal is due one year from the date of registration and due annually thereafter, and it costs $18. Several services will file it for a fee or inside a plan; Tailor Brands says its agent can file the annual report if instructed, and InCorp sells filing at $89 + state fees. Even when a service files, someone has to supply the manager or member names the renewal asks for. See annual reports explained.3, 4, 9, 44
How much does it cost to switch registered agents in Utah?
The Division charges $17, and the change can be filed online. The larger costs tend to come from the old provider: Harbor Compliance wants non-renewal notice at least 90 days before the end of the current term, and Swyft Filings says a replacement agent must be designated (or business dissolved) before cancellation. File the change first, then cancel.4, 28, 47
What if my registered agent resigns or I stop paying?
An agent's resignation takes effect at 12:01 a.m. on the 31st day after the Division files the statement of resignation, or earlier if you name a new agent. Going 60 consecutive calendar days without an agent in Utah is grounds for administrative dissolution. Read how to cancel a registered agent before letting a service lapse.1
Can the agent's address be my Utah business address?
That depends on the provider's terms. Tailor Brands says the agent address cannot be used as the business location in public materials, so plan on a separate business address if you need one. Every commercial agent's address appears in the agent field; the privacy list explains what else stays on the public record and which providers sell a mailing address.11
How is this list ordered?
By our score, highest first, with ties in editorial order. Trustpilot ratings, the largest input, reflect each company as a whole rather than its Utah work, so compare the prices and terms in each paragraph for your own LLC. Founders outside the country can start with agents for non-residents.
