Best LLC formation services in Wyoming

Facts checked October 13 to 14, 2026.

You file Articles of Organization with the Wyoming Secretary of State, Business Division for $100, name a registered agent with a Wyoming street address, and, if you file online, the LLC exists as soon as the filing goes through; in the state's words, "When filed online, the business entity is active immediately." Paper filings take longer (mailed filings up to 15 business days). The state doesn't sell a rush for new LLCs, so a formation service can't make the state faster; what it sells is preparation, an agent, and extras such as an EIN, an operating agreement and annual report filing.1, 2, 3

How do you form a Wyoming LLC, step by step?

Pick a name, pick an agent, file the Articles online or by mail, then get the EIN and sign an operating agreement, with the first annual report coming a year later.

Two points can hold a Wyoming filing up: a name that has to go on paper, and an agent who doesn't meet the address rule.

  1. Search the name. Check the state's business records for the name first. To hold one before you're ready, a reservation costs $60 and lasts 120 days. One quirk of the online system: a name starting with the letter A must be filed on paper for manual review, according to the state's online registration page. If your name starts that way, plan for the paper timeline.1, 4
  2. Choose the registered agent. The statute lets an individual serve who is at least eighteen (18) years of age, resides in this state and whose business office is identical with the registered office; a business entity or commercial agent can serve too. The registered office shall be located at a street address in Wyoming, at a physical location where the agent is present. The Wyoming registered agent guide explains who qualifies and what goes on the record.5
  3. Complete the Articles of Organization. A service fills it in and files it; if you file yourself, you complete the state's form directly.
  4. Choose online or mail. Both routes are open (Online or by mail). Online filing adds a credit card processing fee of 2.4% (minimum $1) of the filing fee. Mailed filings are reviewed in the order they arrive.1, 2
  5. Know that speed can't be bought here. The Secretary of State does sell expedited review for some documents, at $700 next business day or $1,400 same business day, but that service is not available for initial formations or other filings that can be completed online. Filing online is already the fastest route.6
  6. Get an EIN. This is the federal tax number for the LLC, issued by the IRS rather than the state. Banks usually ask for it before opening an account.
  7. Sign an operating agreement. It is an internal document that records who owns what and how decisions are made. Some packages below include a template.
  8. Diary the annual report. Your first report falls due on the first day of the anniversary month of formation, about a year after filing, with a license tax that starts at $60 minimum. Staying compliant in Wyoming has the calendar and penalties.3, 7

An LLC formed in another state that wants to work in Wyoming files a Certificate of Authority instead, for $150.2

"Doesn't publish" in the paragraphs below means the provider's own package description leaves the item out; ask before ordering.

What does each formation package include for a Wyoming LLC?

Each paragraph covers only the provider's published formation terms, in the same order as the table above.

Since the state completes online filings at once, the processing times these companies quote describe their own preparation, not the state's. Agent prices and exit terms are compared on Wyoming registered agent services compared.

Tailor Brands

Lite costs $0 plus state fees, with the LLC processed within 14 business days; the plan list shows no annual compliance, operating agreement or branding tools. Essential is $199/yr plus state fees, processes within 1 business day, and its list adds annual compliance (report filing and updates), operating agreement, among other items. In Wyoming that annual compliance has a yearly report to file, though the license tax is still paid by the LLC. No package description lists a registered agent; Tailor Brands supplies its agent price separately as $199/year. It offers an EIN filing service, price not published. Elite, at $249/yr plus state fees, is also billed yearly.8, 9, 10

ZenBusiness

Starter is $0 + state fees (does not renew), with processing of 7-10 days, and ZenBusiness notes that this excludes Secretary of State time. Starter carries Worry-Free Compliance free for 1 year (then $199/yr). The EIN and operating agreement are +$99 add-ons. Its Rush upgrade +$79 on Starter speeds up ZenBusiness's own work only, since the state's online step is already immediate. Pro, at $199 + state fees, renews at $199/yr, lists ongoing filing compliance (state-required annual report filings and up to 2 amendments per year), which in Wyoming covers the yearly report. The agent sits outside every package (Not included; add-on +$199/yr), with 50% off the first year ($99) when you form an LLC.11, 12

LegalZoom

LegalZoom's Basic package is $0 + state filing fees and its list covers the Articles of organization. The EIN is $79 on Basic, included in Pro and Premium. Operating agreements are listed as: Starts at $99. Anyone who wants LegalZoom as the Wyoming agent buys that separately, at $249/year (first-time registered agent customers). Pro costs $249 + state filing fees and includes attorney consultations (30 days included, then $49/month auto-renew), so diary the date if you don't want the monthly charge.13, 14, 15, 16

Bizee

Bizee's Basic package is $0 + state fee and lists Registered Agent (1st year included); after that the agent renews at $149/year (ongoing annual fee). The EIN and operating agreement are add-ons on Basic, at $70 and +$99. Standard ($199 + state fee) adds EIN, operating agreement, faster processing (~2 weeks). Bizee says Standard's timing includes expedited filing, yet Wyoming doesn't expedite new LLCs, so ask Bizee what that part buys in this state.17, 18, 19

Swyft Filings

Swyft's Basic package costs $0 + state fees; its list says it processes in 7-10 business days. Standard is $169 + state fees (promotional, 'SAVE $30'; regular $199), with an operating agreement (Included in Standard) and handling of 3 business days. No package lists an agent, which Swyft prices on its own at $149 per quarter ($596/year), billed by the quarter. Every tier comes with a trial of ComplianceGuard $199/year, a 14-day free trial then auto-charged. Because Wyoming has a yearly report, that service has something to do here, but decide before the trial converts.20, 21, 22

doola

doola's Starter plan is $297/yr, a yearly charge rather than a one-off fee. It includes LLC filing, EIN, US bank account guidance, US business address, registered agent. doola says it files within 1-2 business days; on an online Wyoming filing the state's own step adds no wait. doola says it can help a US citizen or a non-resident without a US SSN. Founders in that position can read agent services for non-resident founders.23, 24, 25

Northwest Registered Agent

Northwest's formation price is $39 + State Fees, with a free domain name, open source website, phone line, business email, business address, brand protection. Its corporation page calls the price a total that includes one year of registered agent service, but its LLC page doesn't repeat that, so confirm before ordering. On its own the agent costs $125 per year. The operating agreement template costs nothing, per Northwest's listing (Free template), and the EIN is $50 (with SSN).26, 27, 28, 29, 30

Rocket Lawyer

Rocket Lawyer ties formation to a membership: First registration free with a Rocket Lawyer membership. Membership runs from Standard at $149/year to Plus at $249/year and up. A footnote on the offer reads: "Excludes government and third party fees." The agent needs Plus or Pro ($125 with a Plus or Pro membership), and the EIN is $70 with Plus or Pro membership. No operating agreement is listed with the registration.31, 32, 33, 34

InCorp

InCorp lists formation as starting at $99 plus state fees, and doesn't publish an itemized package list; the page notes Live chat and phone support included. The agent is sold separately at $129 per state per year. Its $50.00 InCorp expedite fee pays for InCorp's speed; with Wyoming's instant online filing and no state rush for new LLCs, check what it adds. InCorp doesn't publish an EIN or operating agreement as part of the package.35, 36, 37

Harbor Compliance

Harbor's formation service starts at $99 plus state fees. Its page names Name check, articles, registered agent, EIN, operating agreement, without saying which tier includes what or how long the agent lasts. Harbor says it can prepare and file the government forms to create most LLCs in one business day. Harbor also mentions expedite options (Expedited state processing available in most states (price not published)), and in Wyoming the state has no formation rush to pass on. The standalone agent is $99 first year (new customers), renewing at $159 annually.38, 39, 40

Should you file Wyoming's Articles yourself or pay a service?

Filing yourself costs $100 plus the online card fee, and the online form produces an active LLC straight away. A service mainly takes over the form, the agent and the follow-up paperwork.2

Several things make filing alone manageable in Wyoming. The online system gives an immediate result, and there is no rush tier to weigh. The harder part is the agent. To serve yourself, you must live in Wyoming and have a business office at the registered office, which owners living elsewhere can't meet. A commercial agent fills that gap, and its address goes in the agent field, as with any agent.

Where a service earns its fee is the year after. Wyoming's annual report and license tax recur every year, so a package that files the report, or an agent that reminds you, has work to do here. Watch for the ones that convert to paid plans: ZenBusiness's Starter, for example, carries Worry-Free Compliance free for 1 year (then $199/yr), and several packages are themselves billed yearly.11

Owners with partners or investors may want a lawyer to draft the operating agreement rather than rely on a template. Terms used on this page are defined in the glossary, and the cheapest ways to form a Wyoming LLC adds up the totals.

Questions about forming an LLC in Wyoming

How long does it take to form an LLC in Wyoming?

Online, the state adds no wait. The Secretary of State gives this timing: Online filings are active immediately; mailed filings up to 15 business days. A formation service adds its own preparation time before it files.3

Can I pay to expedite a new Wyoming LLC?

No. Wyoming sells expedited review for some documents ($700 next business day or $1,400 same business day per document; not available for initial formations or other filings that can be completed online), but new formations are excluded. A provider's rush fee speeds up the provider's preparation, not the state's review.6

Why does my LLC name affect how I file in Wyoming?

The state's online registration page says that a name beginning with the letter A must be filed on paper for manual review. Other names can be filed online and become active at once. A paper filing waits in the mail queue.1

Do Wyoming formation packages include a registered agent?

Some do. Bizee's cheapest package lists Registered Agent (1st year included), and doola's Starter plan includes one. ZenBusiness lists the agent as Not included; add-on +$199/yr. Compare the renewal price, since the agent is a yearly cost; Wyoming registered agent services compared lists them.11, 17

Is an annual report service worth having for a Wyoming LLC?

That depends on whether you want to file it yourself, since Wyoming LLCs file a report every year with a license tax of $60 minimum, or $0.0002 per dollar of Wyoming assets if greater (annual report license tax). A service handles the form and the reminder; the tax is still owed by the LLC. Read how annual reports work before choosing.3
