Best registered agent services in Arkansas

Facts checked October 13 to 15, 2026.

The 10 services compared here all sell registered agent service, and LegalZoom and doola are the two whose cited pages leave out which states they cover. Whichever one an Arkansas LLC hires has to meet the rule in the Secretary of State's report instructions: "The registered agent's address must be a street address in Arkansas, and the agent must be located at that address." Arkansas lists the Notice of Change of Registered Agent for LLC (Form DO-03) as "No fee", so the cost of leaving a provider comes from its own renewal and exit terms, not the state. The other local factor is the Annual LLC Franchise Tax Report, due May 1 each year with the $150 annual LLC franchise tax, which is where report reminders and filing services come in.1, 2, 3

What order are the providers in, and which facts did we compare?

Providers appear by our score, highest first, and every paragraph below draws on the same set of published facts: agent price, renewal, mail handling, report help, cancellation and refunds.

A tie in score is broken by editorial order, which says nothing about which provider is better. Our score uses only published, cited facts, split between customer satisfaction, breadth of service and dashboard, and value and cost; how we score sets out the method and each provider's breakdown. We don't buy or try out the services. The Trustpilot rating next to each score is a third-party figure, shown as Trustpilot publishes it.

"Score" is our editorial score out of 10, built from published facts: half from the Trustpilot rating, the rest from breadth of services, dashboard and mail scanning, and package value and two-year cost (how we score; scores approved 2026-10-14). We don't test services. Trustpilot ratings are third-party, cited to Trustpilot, and not adjusted.

The facts in each paragraph come from the provider's own pages or terms, or are marked as supplied by the provider, and every one is cited in the Sources list at the end. If a provider leaves something out of its pages, the paragraph says it doesn't publish it. For what any agent does day to day, read what a registered agent does; this page sticks to one question, which paid agent fits an Arkansas LLC.

Which Arkansas rules change how you compare agents?

Three state rules shape the comparison: the agent must sit at an Arkansas street address, the state charges no fee to change agents, and every LLC files a yearly report with a franchise tax that names its agent.

An Arkansas street address with someone there. Arkansas's version of the Model Registered Agents Act, at Ark. Code Ann. § 4-20-102, defines a noncommercial agent as an individual or a domestic or foreign entity that serves in this state as the agent for service of process. The report form adds the practical test: the address is a street address in Arkansas and the agent is located at it, so any service you hire needs an Arkansas address of its own. Your choice of agent fills only the agent field; the yearly report separately asks for a principal office in Arkansas. The Arkansas registered agent guide covers who may serve and being your own agent.4, 5

Switching carries no state fee. The forms page lists the Notice of Change of Registered Agent for LLC (Form DO-03) as "No fee", and the form can be filed online. With no state fee in the way, the cost of leaving a provider comes from its own terms: a long notice period, a closed refund window or a renewal billed before you noticed. Those terms are in every paragraph below, and how to change a registered agent gives the order of steps.2

A yearly report that lists the agent. The LLC files the Annual LLC Franchise Tax Report by May 1 each year and pays the franchise tax with it. The report asks for the registered agent name and Arkansas street address, so an agent change shows up there too. A late report adds a $25 late filing penalty plus interest. Report reminders and filing services have a yearly deadline to cover here, but no agent price we cite includes the tax. Staying compliant in Arkansas walks through the report itself.3, 5

How do the registered agent services compare for an Arkansas LLC?

The paragraphs follow the table's order. Each covers the provider's published agent terms and how they sit with Arkansas's free agent change and May report.

Tailor Brands

Tailor Brands charges $199/year for agent service and lists renewal at $199/year (renews at the same price); the provider supplied both prices. It says it serves all 50 states and offers an LLC dashboard with new-document notifications. Its compliance note says the agent can file the annual report if instructed. Report filing is included in Essential and Elite, its paid plans, and Essential costs $199/yr plus state fees. The plan pages we cite don't say how that filing applies to Arkansas's franchise tax report, and the tax itself is owed to the state either way. One rule in its terms: the agent address cannot be used as the business location in public materials. It sells a separate Virtual Address product for that purpose and doesn't publish the price. The terms describe auto-renewal on by default for subscription services, and a refund carries a $29 service fee deducted from any refund issued. The Tailor Brands review has the rest.6, 7, 8, 9, 10

ZenBusiness

ZenBusiness lists its agent at $199/year, renewing at $199/yr. Its first-year offer is 50% off the first year ($99) when you form an LLC. You receive scanned copies on a dashboard, with originals forwarded only if they can't be copied. For annual reports it sells one filing at a time (Annual Report Filing $100 per report) or a yearly plan (Worry-Free Compliance $199/year); its pages don't name Arkansas's franchise tax report. The agent service renews automatically, and to stop it you cancel by contacting customer support by phone. A refund is possible only if the service has not yet been used. Its formation packages leave the agent out: "Not included; add-on +$199/yr". See the ZenBusiness review, or set it against Tailor Brands on Tailor Brands vs ZenBusiness.11, 12, 13, 14

LegalZoom

LegalZoom's agent is $249/year (first-time registered agent customers). Its renewal term reads "Renews at the purchase rate each year", with the rate subject to change, so the second-year price is not fixed. Legal papers are scanned to your account, and it lists other mail uploaded to account and emailed; it doesn't publish physical forwarding. It sends "Email reminders about annual report deadlines via Compliance Calendar", sells a one-off report filing at $99 + state filing fees, and offers a recurring filing plan that starts at $199/year, auto-renews. You cancel by phone or online via My Account, and proof of new RA may be required; in Arkansas the free change notice can go in first. Prepaid fees are refunded only when LegalZoom terminates the service. LegalZoom doesn't publish its state coverage on the pages we cite. Read the LegalZoom review.15, 16, 17, 18

Bizee

Bizee prices its agent at $149/year and renews at $149/year (ongoing annual fee), and it gives a free first year with any Bizee formation package. Lawsuit papers are mailed via FedEx with tracking. It advertises free lifetime compliance notifications and lists report filing as "Annual report filing offered; no standalone price stated". Cancelling means assigning a new registered agent with the state and notifying Bizee of the change; Arkansas's free change notice makes that first step cheap. Orders are generally refundable until payment is forwarded to a government entity. Bizee also sells a virtual address at $29/month. Details are in the Bizee review.19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24

Swyft Filings

Swyft Filings sells its agent by the quarter at $149 per quarter ($596/year). That makes it one of the higher yearly figures in the table. It says it covers all 50 states, and its page gives this timing for lawsuit papers: legal SOP typically within 2-3 hours. Its FAQ says the service renews annually with reminders before renewal, which sits oddly with quarterly billing; check the cycle at checkout. Its report product is ComplianceGuard $199/year (annual report filing included, state fee applies); the page doesn't say whether that state fee means Arkansas's franchise tax. A replacement agent must be designated (or business dissolved) before cancellation. Refunds are decided case by case, with no published time window. See the Swyft Filings review.25, 26, 27, 28, 29

doola

doola's agent page says $297 per year, the same figure as its Starter formation plan ($297/yr), and doesn't make clear whether that buys the agent alone. Its agent note reads "RA free with Formation Service", but on how long that lasts, its plan listing says only "duration not stated". It offers same-day scans, while paper forwarding is not included in base RA subscription unless stated in plan. It sends annual report notifications, but it says "Starter does not include ongoing compliance filings", so on Starter the Arkansas report is yours to file unless you move to a plan that includes report filing. Its terms say recurring fees auto-renew, and its cancellation page says "Delete account any time". doola doesn't publish its state coverage on the pages we cite. More in the doola review.30, 31, 32, 33, 34

Northwest Registered Agent

Northwest charges $125 per year and says it has offices in all 50 states plus D.C. and Puerto Rico. Legal documents go to your online account, and it lists normal business mail scanned up to 5 docs per year free. One term needs a look before an Arkansas order: its pages say "RA customers auto-enrolled in Compliance Services billed in annual auto-pay", and its report filing is $100 + state fees, charged at filing. An agent customer could therefore be charged each time Northwest files the Arkansas report, unless they opt out. You can cancel anytime through the online account; no cancellation fee. Purchases are non-refundable after 90 days. Its pages don't say whether the agent itself renews automatically. See the Northwest review.35, 36, 37, 38, 39

Rocket Lawyer

Rocket Lawyer's agent is $125 with a Plus or Pro membership. Add the membership to get the real yearly cost: Plus is $249/year, Pro is $349/year. Pro members can have an annual report filed at $100 with Pro membership, excluding state fees; the page doesn't mention Arkansas's franchise tax. It says it serves all 50 states, and documents are scanned and uploaded to email and account. The agent renews in successive 1-year terms. You may cancel any time by phone, before renewal date, and refund requests must arrive within 30 days of purchase. Read the Rocket Lawyer review.40, 41, 42, 43

InCorp Services

InCorp charges $129/year and calls renewal a flat rate, yet its terms say service is billed at then-current fee unless a cancellation condition is met. It covers all 50 states, DC, Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands. Legal documents are scanned and delivered same day. Its agent service includes Email reminders before deadlines (annual reports, franchise tax), a pairing that fits Arkansas, where the report and the tax share one deadline. Separate report filing costs $89 + state fees. To stop paying, you meet one of its conditions (dissolve entity, appoint new agent, or resign InCorp with fees) before the yearly fee falls due. Refund requests go in within 60 days of issuance of services, and its terms add that "discounted services nonrefundable". See the InCorp review.44, 45, 46, 47

Harbor Compliance

Harbor Compliance charges $99 first year (new customers) and renews at $159 annually. It advertises same-day document scanning, and the agent comes with annual report filing reminders included. Its managed report service costs $199 per state per year plus filing fees. Leaving takes notice at least 90 days before the end of the current term. Arkansas's change notice is free, so the notice date, not the state, decides what leaving costs. Its terms read "No refunds; fees non-refundable". The Harbor Compliance review has the full terms.48, 49, 50

What does a registered agent cost an Arkansas LLC in year one and after?

In the first year you pay the state's filing fee ($45 online, $50 by paper) plus the agent's first-year price; from then on, the agent's renewal sits beside the $150 annual LLC franchise tax due each May.2

The pages we cite give the report's deadline as May 1 each year but no separate rule for a new LLC's first report, so whether your first franchise tax lands inside your first year depends on when you form; the Secretary of State can confirm it. Paying the tax online costs a little more, because online filing adds a $5.00 card processing fee.1, 3

Where the year-one and later prices part ways, it happens differently at each provider.

Report filing is a second recurring line if you buy it; most of the published filing prices above say state fees are extra, and none says it includes the tax. Full formation totals are in the cheapest ways to form an LLC in Arkansas and Arkansas LLC formation services compared. Agent prices nationwide are on cheapest registered agent services, and the compare page puts two providers side by side.

Arkansas registered agent services: common questions

Does it cost anything to switch registered agents in Arkansas?

Not at the state level. The Notice of Change of Registered Agent for LLC (Form DO-03) is listed as "No fee", and it can be filed online. Any cost comes from the old provider's terms, such as Harbor Compliance's notice requirement at least 90 days before the end of the current term. How to cancel a registered agent explains why the change is usually filed before the old service is cancelled.2, 50

Will a registered agent service pay my Arkansas franchise tax?

No agent fee we cite includes the tax. The LLC owes the $150 annual LLC franchise tax with its yearly report, and the report-filing prices we cite either list state fees as extra or don't mention them; Swyft Filings describes its service as "ComplianceGuard $199/year (annual report filing included, state fee applies)". A service can file the report and remind you of the date. The money for the tax still comes from you.3, 27

What happens if my registered agent resigns in Arkansas?

The resignation takes effect on the 31st day after the statement of resignation is filed or when you appoint a new agent, whichever is earlier, and the agent must promptly notify the LLC of the filing date. An LLC without an agent for 60 consecutive days gives the state grounds to dissolve it, with 60 days to cure after notice. The Arkansas registered agent guide covers the replacement steps.51, 52

Do I need a service that files the Arkansas annual report?

No law requires one; you can file the report and pay the tax yourself by May 1 each year. A service helps if you would rather not track the date, and late filing adds a $25 late filing penalty. Compare the service fee with that risk. Our list of agents with compliance tools shows which providers file reports for you.1, 3

Can I use my agent's address as my Arkansas business address?

Not for every field. The yearly report asks for a principal office in Arkansas separately from the agent's address, and Tailor Brands' terms say the agent address cannot be used as the business location in public materials. Some providers sell a separate business address, such as Bizee's virtual address at $29/month. Whether that address can stand as your Arkansas principal office is a question for the Secretary of State; our page on what an agent keeps off the record explains what stays public.5, 9, 24

How is the list on this page ordered?

By our score, highest first, with ties in editorial order. The score rests on published, cited facts, and the largest share comes from each provider's Trustpilot rating, which reflects the company as a whole rather than its Arkansas service. The full method is on how we score, and founders choosing their first service can start with agents for first-time founders.
